Coincidentally just after the warranty expires my weight scale starts eating batteries like crazy. It will not shut down when not in use and I have to take the batteries in and out every time. Would not recommend or purchase another product

@Ismal It's great to see new faces in our Fitbit Community. Welcome aboard! I'm sorry to hear that your Aria scale stays on when not in use. I'd like to provide a workaround that has turned out helpful for this type of issues. Please take out the batteries and clean the contacts of your scale with a cotton swab and a little bit of alcohol. This will remove any dust that the contacts may accumulate.
After this, put the batteries back in and see if the issue gets fixed.
Keep me posted on the outcome!

Hi, we’re having the exact same issue and is costing a fortune in batteries. You only have to walk past the scales and they turn on and then won’t switch off until you’ve got on them to weigh yourself. Even the dog sets them off!
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I'm having the same issues. When I walk by it or even walk in the room it's on and scanning. Thought I would like the Aria but I'm not so sure now 😞

I have discovered that my floor is a tad bit uneven. If I can find the even plays on my floor two place said Aria it does not turn on. However I remain with the issue of being unable to connect to my Wi-Fi, so Aria still sucks. Lucking into a different brand.

Same issue here. Looks like there has not been an answer other than the alcohol on a cotton swab. It's been 2 years since this thread started. I'm getting frustrated that this keeps happening and we're going through a lot of batteries and there are times when we just ignore it and it dies. I don't feel like spending more money on batteries. No answers then from Fitbit?

I am having the same issue. I also cannot connect to my WIF and I have tried everything possible. So disappointing.

Well, I just solved my problem with my Aria not turning off and eating up my batteries. I just bought a new scale---but not an Aria!
