My Aria shows a Sensing ERR message every day

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

My Aria 1 is about 8 years old. It displays a thinking, ERR message every day, sometimes more than once. I take the battery out, wait, replace, and try again. Sometimes it helps, sometimes not. I know it's 8 years old, but it's actually in use for, what, 30-45 seconds a day?

Very frustrating. I may try Withings.

@mbespikee It's great to see you in our Fitbit Community! I'm sorry to hear that you need to restart your Aria every time it displays a "Thinking ERR".

Before proceeding accordingly on my end, I'd just like to know if your Aria is placed on a hard surface and you step on it barefoot. If these details are already covered, please re-calibrate your scale by weighing yourself 5 times in a row and see if the error message disappears.

Keep me posted on the outcome! 😀

Yes on hard surface and yes on barefoot. You mean weigh myself five times in a row, even if I get errors during the five attempts?

One other thing--I changed the batteries and now the display shows nothing when I stand on the scale.  Like it's just plain dead.

From what I've read on other forums is that there is nothing that can be done if you are out of warranty. Last week I experienced the same thing. Aria would randomly light up and drained the batteries,  replaced them and then the err started showing up and that's all she wrote.

@Christo08 Thank you for joining us in this thread! I'm sorry to hear that your Aria scale is also showing a "Sensing Thinking ERR" message even though you've replaced the batteries before contacting our forums.

Please let me know if your Aria is placed on a hard surface and you weigh yourself barefoot.

Keep me posted! 😀

I just moved and hooked my Aria to a network for the first time in about 4 years.  I had a router go bad at my old house and never bothered to reconnect Aria to new network.  Scale worked flawlessly.  Moved to another state, internet provider supplied new router, though I may as well connect to network to get full functionality.  Scale worked just fine...until I connected it to new network.  Phone mentioned something about update, scale flashed V39, and now this thing is a paperweight.   Getting the same messages as Everyone else.  Scale is on level tile floor.  Baterries out for 30 sec, weigh 5 consecutive times.  No joy.  (Maybe if I do the hokey pokey and turn myself around???)
