What's happened to my scales?
It stopped syncing with the app several years ago (!!!) Most annoying, and it was a common complaint from many users. So I'd put up with that since no updates were sorted for this problem.
Now it won't even show the weight at all. When I stand on them, I get this:
Setup Active (I step on the scales) / Hi 🙂 Sensing / Step off / Thinking / ERR
So it no longer works. Why is this? It has not been damaged, has full batteries. Totally useless if I cant get it past this. Does anybody have any answers? Hopefully this is monitored by Fitbit itself and they can explain what's happening. Because if I have to replace my scales, it certainly won't be with another one of these devices.

And looking through this forum - there's heaps of users with the same problem. Shame on Fitbit.
I also note how many of these threads have been locked so no further comments can be made. Obviously there are no answers for this. I welcome anybody to prove me wrong, and would be happy if they did.

Ik have the same problem: Setup Active (I step on the scales) / Hi 🙂 Sensing / Step off / Thinking / ERR
I changed already all the baateries to new ones.
I did 5 times a step op, step off like I read in another topic but this doesn't work.
I still get the error.
What do I have to do?

Same issue. Same BS. Scale wouldn't sync. Then after following all of the instructions, it would show Step On, Thinking, Step Off and then ERR.
Shame on Google. How can you expect us to ever purchase your products when you can't even let a scale be a scale - ignore the app syncing.
I'm reaching out to Louis Rossman and hoping he covers this despicable corporate behavior on his YouTube channel.
Please help us. One thought is to collect all of this ewaste and throw it onto Google campuses to deal with. What happened to being a green company.
Shame on you all
