So, it would appear an arrow was shot thru the heart of the Aria

It's curious that both the Aria and the Aria 2 suddenly don't communicate to the dashboard. I didn't do the whole reboot, so I got to see the same problem without the enhancement of rebooting.  That shows it wasn't the problem since with or without the reboot, the problem is the same.
Since it happened to both at the same time, it's either incompetent programmers or a deliberate corporate decision to try to force new purchase.
Given the lack of support on the current equipment, I'll shop elsewhere.  I was planning to upgrade my charge 4 to a 6, but I can see that's just p!ssing money down a rat hole. Fitbit still ignores the problem, and won't even say it's an end of service life issue.
I did IT for 30 years, and we kept the old stuff working. It didn't get the candy apple paint and shiny brass buttons, but it still did just what it used to

Just learned this morning that my Aria 2 won’t communicate with my app.  Bummer!
