Hi having changed from Sky to Virgin Media I have been unable to pair my Aria scale

is my new Virgin Media Hub 3 compatible ?

I have tried removing all users from my account and also setting up a new account

I'm not very technical I don't think I can change my new hub setting

All my other devices paired with no problems

Thanks in advance

@tbf28 Thanks for participating in our Fitbit Community! Sounds weird that your Aria scale is not syncing with your new router. Please make sure that your Virgin Hub3 has the settings needed. Please check out this help article which has a list of the settings that the Aria needs to connect with your network. After making sure that your router has the correct settings, try the setup process as advised in this post.

Hi

Thanks very much for your Reply

But I'm an idiot

I made time this morning with no other distractions to go through the procedure again before I started making changes to my router

When I came to the step of moving back to my own network from the scales Wi-Fi I realised the password I should have been using was the one on the bottom of the router not the Password I made up to access my Virgin account !!!!!!

Success 1st time apart from the weight I've put on

I hope my revelation may help other people on the Forum

Tommy

I am so happy to share this solution with you.  The ARIA and other devices like wifi plugs which used to work if you previously had SKY or other network provider will start working again if you follow this.  The problem is that the Virgin 3.0 hub does not connect with devices which use 802.11b (Aria etc).  You need to get a range extender or use SKY wireless connector to connect to the Virgin network and then broadcast the network.  Your nonworking devices will join the Virgin network via the range extender and work happily.  To use the old Sky wireless connector (SKY on demand box) plug it in to the mains and press the WPS button on both the router and the wireless connector box.  When the 'wireless' button on the sky connector box is lit up, you are now broadcasting the Virgin network in a way that the old devices using 802.11b can join.  I used a lot of brain cells to work this out but HURRAY!

Further to my post on using a wif extender or SKY wireless Connector

I set the settings on the hub which enabled 802.11b protocol, but the ARIA would not connect to the wifi.  This caused the battery to run down as it kept trying to connect.  My solution using a wifi extender at least connects the ARIA to the network and enables the scale to be used as a normal scale.  The fitbit app still won't connect to the Aria scale though.  The URANT plugs are now working in an app (Broadlink) and (econtrol).  They did not work before.

I don't have a solution to being able to use the fitbit app or add the device to my fitbit account.  At least i now have a scale I can use old school style (ie not with an app)

Hi FitBit Community

I too have an original set of Aria V39 scales and have recently upgraded my home network to run from a Virgin Hub 3.0.

I have tried ALL of the work around on this thread and others, including trying to pair with WiFi extenders but nothing has worked.  I now have a set of dumb scales 😞

Can anyone at FitBit offer me some advanced support on this? I got a new FitBit for Christmas and this is all very frustrating. I look forward to hearing back.

Thanks,

Suze

@Suze_L I'm sorry to hear that your Aria scale is not connecting to your new Virgin Hub. I'd like you to make sure that your new network complies with tthe following settings:

  • 802.11b/g/n frequency setting
  • WEP / WPA / WPA2 personal security
  • Automatic (DHCP) IP setup (static IP configurations are not supported)
  • Both the network name and password must be no more than 32 characters long
  • The bandwidth is 2.4 GHz

After checking the details above, try the setup process again as described in this help article.

Keep me posted on the outcome! Smiley Happy

I have to original Aria scale as well and I am not able to connect to the same Wi-Fi it was on in the first place.  I looked in the Fitbit store and they don’t sell the original Aria. Where you able to connect your Aria and if so how. I have been working on this scale for 2 hrs.

I have the same problem with my Aria scales. They just don't work with my Virgin Hub 3 so I think the scales are now useless, or at least I can't connect them anymore. It's frustrating but I've tried all of the suggestions and spent hours on this and no luck.

I'm going to buy a new set of scales but I'm not replacing them with a Fitbit set because these should still be working. It's frustrating.
