Why doesn't Google have a solution for this? I just purchase this scale today.

The initial setup for myself was quick and easy,  however, even though I have invited my wife and she has accepted.  She shows up on my FitBit app under "People Using This Scale" and the scale shows up as one of her connected devices.

When she steps on the scale with her app open, a popup states"Set up Aria Air? Your weight can't sync to this FitBit account. The scale has been reset, or it wasn't set up properly.  Set it up again?" 

I copied the last person's issue as it is the exact same as mine and that was closed with no solution. I have a manual scale (aria 2 as it stopped syncing and after a full reset won't connect to wifi) I purchased this so it would sync. I am going to return it if this is known issue that will never be solved.

This response has zero to do with my issue at all. I shall go through it again. 
Step 1 - set up the scale on my phone.
Step 2 - Stepped on scale and data was sent to my phone from the scale. 
Step 3 -  went to the scale in my fitbit app and put my wife's email there for the invite.
Step 4 - My wife to the invite did all the accepts and scale shows up on her phone. 
Step 5 - My wife steps on the scale and her app says " Your weight can't synn to this FitBit account. The scale was reset or it wasn't set up properly"
Step 6 - Removed the scale from my wife's phone, my phone, and reset the scale.
Step 7 - Redid Steps 1-4 above and the same results as step 5.
Step 8 - Removed the scale from my phone, my wife's phone and reset the scale.
Step 9 - Created a new Fitbit account on my phone and a new fitbit account on my wifes phone. 
Step 10 - using the newly created accounts I repeated steps 1-4 and again same results as step 5.
Step 11 - Removed the scale from my new account, reset the scale, logged into my old account and set the scale up. Sent an invite to my new account.
Step 12 - Logged into my new account. accepted the invite viia emails scale shows up and then step on scale and same message as in step 5.
Step 13 - removed scale from both my accounts reset the scale Logged into my new account, set up the scale and sent an invite to old email.
Step 14 - Logged into my old account, accepted the invite and scale appeared. Stepped on scale and the correct data transferred.

My old account sending an invite to my new account doesn't work, Sending an invite from my new account to my old account does work. Nothing I do allows my wife's app both old or new to get data from the scale. See step 5.

Thanks for reaching out to the Fitbit Customer Care Team.Note that he invites won't be displayed in the app. Please check the email associated with the Fitbit account where they are sending the invite. If they don't see the invite in the main inbox, recommend checking the junk and spam folder.

I swear it is like they don't read the responses. I clearly stated I reset the scale and deleted the invites.

  • Educate your customer about the scale's weight limit: 397lbs, 28st:5lb, or 180 Kg. 
  • Have you tried the following again: 
    • 1. On the back of Aria Air, touch and hold the button above the letter "U" for 5 seconds. The display flashes otA. 
    • 2. Keep holding it. Touch and hold the button for another 5 seconds, until the display shows clr. 
  • Have you removed all other scales from his account? 
  • Have them to remove all the invitees from the scale:
  1. From the Today tab , tap the devices icon  your scale image.
  2. Tap People Using This Scale or Users.
  3. Tap the person you want to remove.
  4. Tap Remove From Scale.
