Accuracy of distance

Hi,

I've had my Blaze since August and love all the info it provides me. My girlfriend was impressed with it as well and recently ended up buying the Charge 2 because of its looks. Last week we did a weekend challenge and walked everywhere together. I beat her by almost 2000 steps. We tried again this weekend, also walking everywhere together and I am currently up by a significant amount of steps.  As a test, we both synced our phones and gps, and walked for 18 minutes to a local eatery. At the end of our walk, I was 450 more steps, and almost half a km longer distance-wise. I google mapped the distance and it was accurate compared to my gf's Charge. So, I guess my tracker has been quite off all this time, going back to August. Any recommendations as to how I can make my steps and distance accurate? I've read a bunch of forum posts and my height is correct, I walk normally and don't do extra arm movements, etc. My main concern is how the map shows me as walking 1.75 km, whereas my girlfriend's map shows the same walk as 1.3km. Anyone else have similar issues? Thanks!

How tall is she compared to you? Or to put it another way, whi has the longer stride?

The challenge also includes none dedicated walking time like when working atound the house, this also needs to be takrn into consideration.

Hi Rich, thanks for replying. 

I'm 6'1 and my gf is 5'8. I have a longer stride, and we've both checked our stride distance in our profiles. Technically she should be taking more steps than me, but it appears my fitbit is doing the opposite. Would resetting my fitbit be a viable option? I've attached comparison pics of our walk today. Mine is the top one, with the distance being over by 350m or so from the actual distance on google maps. The bottom pic if from my girlfriend's Charge 2.Blaze
