Welcome to the forums @Kariobrien, when a user feels the distance registered is incorrect it's usually due to the stride length settings you mentioned, make sure you've followed the instructions @SunsetRunner provided in this thread.
If you feel the distance is still inaccurate, try to restart your device as well, this can help to reset the internal settings of the tracker. If you continue to have any trouble, I do recommend that you get in touch with the Customer Support team for further assistance with this. I hope this helps.

Hello @Kariobrien my first way i usually attract this problem is with math.
There are a few ways we can do the math to fix this.
Let's look at what has been done and what we know.
Since you state the distance is off, I'll assume you know the true distance.
We know the distance recorded by the Blaze.
You have set a stride.
You know the steps counted by the fitbit during this walk.
Option A
True Distance / Reported distance = Correction
Correction * Previous Set Stride = True Stride
Option B
Distance / Steps = Stride
63,360 inches in a mile
So let's do the math
True distance walked * 63,360 / Steps the Fitbit counted = Stride
Option C, the easiest.
Go to https://www.walkingwithattitude.com/fitness-tools/stride-length
Insert your true miles
Insert the step count Fitbit.
Hit enter and your stride will be displayed.
Note: make sure you have changed the value to miles.
Set the stride up in the app or online, you know should be good.
OK maybe not, since when the speed of the walk changes, so will the stride.
Do you want greater accuracy?
So what did I do?
I recorded 5 identical walks on 5 seperate days.
Added up the true miles of each walk.
Added up the total steps of each walk, each walk had a different step count.
I now have an average step count over a 5 day period.
I entered in the total miles and total steps walked to get my average stride.
