Active minutes fact or fiction?

I have been trying to get this feature to work with no such luck.... This is my second tracker that I've had and I have done everything possible to get it to work and it's been to the point that I don't even try. My last tracker blacked out on me and this one isn't much better....

Active minutes are certainly weird. Sometimes the confusion is because fitbit only gives active minutes when it thinks you are being very active rather than just mildly active. There's a help file on them that may shed some light: http://help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/1379

Thank you I've read this article a few times and I've tried it out but the only time it seems to work is if I am throwing fast pitch for softball which only registered me with 2 active minutes  when I was pitching for a good 15-20 minutes, and it was more than pretty intense and a bit over board in my opinion if I was to constantly do this just to get my active minutes it could be very dangerous

The best types of exercise to get active minutes are those with a high step count.

As I mentioned before, active minutes are a little strange and if they are causing more confusion than benefit then just ignore them. I certainly wouldn't do anything you consider dangerous just to get some numbers on your dashboard.
