Android 7 - stop FitBit accessing contacts and SMS

I have the SMS and Contacts switched off on App Permissions, yet I got an SMS messages on the Blaze. How is this?? I see it's allowed to "Read Contacts", "Receive Text Messages" and "Find Accounts". Can I not turn these off?

Just disable notifications in the app.

It isn't notifications that are the issue, it is the fact that it has permissions to read contacts and look at accounts on the phone. I want to block these. And in any event, I want some notifications.
