This would also need to have the app somehow tell fitbit that the message was read.
Fitbit does not read any messages, or stores them to know what has been sent, it just sends the same notification you see on the phone to the tracker.

It'd be much better if the clear all button were on top so I don't have to slog through every last notification to clear everything.

There is no clear all option on my Blaze at the end of notifications.

It's weird to hear that you are not seeing the "Clear All" option. Have you tried to restart your devices? If you haven't, I recommend restarting your trackers.
