BTLE radiation

Hello everybody,

I thought I could turn off the bluetooth completely in Settings if I don't need to use it. Now I've learned that Bluetooth Low Energy (BTLE) is always ON and can't be turned off. It means that the Blaze emmits radiation round the clock. Isn't it dangerous for the health? I read somewhere that the bluetooth radiaton is not researched completely at the moment but some scientists say the bluetooth radiation can be more dangerous than the radiation emmited by cellphones. In our case (when we wear the Blaze almost 24 hours attached to our hands/arms) it can be even worse than the use of cellphones.

What can be done to lessen the impact of the emmited radiation?

Any ideas are highly appreciated.

Hello @alex5908! I wanted to provide some information on your Fitbit BLE inquiry. Smiley Happy

All Fitbit devices are compliant with FCC regulations in the product manual. The output of a Fitbit tracker is extremely low - less than 1% of the typical output power for a cell phone. The consensus following research of Bluetooth radiation dangers to humans is that the 800MHz - 2 GHz radiation output of a Bluetooth device is negligible to users.

In short, we do not believe there is any cause for worry when it comes to radiation emissions from our devices.

Being on also does not mean transmitting, the Fitbit, like every other luetooyh is i. Listening mode, when your phone asks to comunicate with the tracker. This comunication happens in extreamy smaal bursts if ttansmission.
BTLE also is used for notifacations and connected GPS. Keep the notifacafions off in the app and the plaze will not need to comunicate to receive them, since they wont be sent.
