Fitbit Update: 09/3/2017
Our team is still actively investigating the root cause of this battery drain with Blaze and the Samsung Galaxy S8/S8+. I'm sorry that many of you are still having issues with a shorter battery life, but rest assured this is being looked at as high-priority for our team. My apologies for the inconvenience, and thank you all for your patience! I will provide an update as soon as there is more information available. In the meantime, please continue manually syncing your Blaze trackers only when needed. This will help preserve the battery-life.
Fitbit Update: 08/14/2017
Hi everybody!
Thanks for reporting your experiences with a rapid battery drain on Blaze trackers and your Android device - Samsung Galaxy S8/S8+. Our team is aware this is affecting Blaze users and they are investigating the root cause. I will update this thread when there is more information available.
As a temporary workaround, turn OFF "Always Connected" and the "All-Day sync" features. Make sure to manually sync your devices at least once a day.
Thanks for your patience!

@mbs_SE wrote:Well, nothing new under the sun, same poor battery time still on my Fitbit Blaze, 24-48 hours max is my battery time.
After replacing my Blaze a couple of times, and also reinstallation of the app, I have learned that notifications takes a few hours (sometimes up to a day) before they works like they should again.
I have bought a lot of accessories for my Blaze over the year I have owned it, so I'm not in the mode to buy a new smartwatch right now.
What I want most of all, is to have the 6-7 day of battery time back, at least 5 days.
Come on Fitbit, give us a new firmware for the Blaze, do some magic to the battery time!
This appears to be the same situation with me. After I couldn't get notifications to work yesterday after talking with tech support, they randomly started working about 2 hours later. Now they seem to be working fine, so the only problem I'm still having is that when I use my watch to start an Exercise, it still says that it can't find my phone (so there's no GPS tracking during my run or walk).

I have had mine since about July 13, 2017 and it has not worked once. Sometime when I look at the fittbit app, the sync had errors. Sometimes the sync works. But my notifications never worked.
Just to be clear, when I say notifications, I talking about like when the phone gets a text, the Blaze never sees it.

There is a battery / notifications issue that seem universal. But the notifications seem different between some of us.
Curious, What version S8+
I am ATT and according to this web site https://www.att.com/devicehowto/tutorial.html#!/stepbystep/id/stepbystep_KM1203359?make=Samsung&mode...
This is the current version:
Release date: July 20, 2017 Android version: 7.0 Security patch level (SPL): July 1, 2017 Baseband version: G955USQS1AQG1 Kernel version: 4.4.16-11449429 Build number: NRD90M.G955USQS1AQG1 Build fingerprint: 7.0/NRD90M/G955USQS1AQG1 Previous update required: G955USQS1AQF7 File size: 133MB
My baseband and build number match, so I think I am up to date.
What carriers/versions are those who notifications seem to work?

My Blaze started not holding a charge 2 days ago. I charged it last night and 12 hours later it is blinking to be charged. I have a LG K20 plus phone. I have had this phone for a couple months. What is going on?

I think we are all experiencing the the same problem. I have had my S8+ for just over a month and i have noticed that I'm having to charge almost every 48 hours. Fitbit needs to say something about the issue and now I'm trying to charge but, the logo just shows. # frustrated😠

I noticed GPS issues yesterday when I went for a run. Never had that issue until I updated the app. It did eventually connect...

Fitbit need to get the GPS problem with the S8 fixed asap the Blaze is an expensive bit of tech to just count your daily steps!

This is weird, all of a sudden I got a notification.
Did not do anything.
When something starts on it's own, it can stop on it's own.
I HATE magic.

This is getting really frustrating! I don't have a Samsung like all of you folks (I have the old iPhone 5s) BUT I'm having the same issue of the terrible battery life and then just last night the time displayed is off by 4 hours??!! My sister has a Blaze as well (I hyped up Fitbit to her and got her to buy one too) and she has yet to have this problem BUT she was having some other issues (the display was all shakey) and Fitbit sent her instructions on how to reset/restart the Blaze... I followed the same instructions and it did not solve the short battery life but it did screw up the time display 😞 As an avid runner, boot camper, hiker - I really like the Blaze (when it was working), years ago I had the Fitbit One, liked it - but wanted a watch type version, spent the $200 and here now this battery problem, really frustrating!!!!

I came from the surge because the battery lasted maybe 2 days if at best in the end and the connecting via Bluetooth became a struggle but things on the blaze aren't any better now. Nexus 6p, latest everything. I only sinc a couple times a day.

After giving up on the Fitbit-abandoned Samsung S8, I am still having battery drain issues. Fully charged yesterday. Died overnight. WTF. I don't even have the app installed on the S8 now I know Fitbit have abandoned it.
This is getting ridiculous - for a 'premium device'.
