Fitbit Update: 09/3/2017

Our team is still actively investigating the root cause of this battery drain with Blaze and the Samsung Galaxy S8/S8+. I'm sorry that many of you are still having issues with a shorter battery life, but rest assured this is being looked at as high-priority for our team. My apologies for the inconvenience, and thank you all for your patience! I will provide an update as soon as there is more information available. In the meantime, please continue manually syncing your Blaze trackers only when needed. This will help preserve the battery-life.

Fitbit Update: 08/14/2017

Hi everybody!

Thanks for reporting your experiences with a rapid battery drain on Blaze trackers and your Android device - Samsung Galaxy S8/S8+. Our team is aware this is affecting Blaze users and they are investigating the root cause. I will update this thread when there is more information available.

As a temporary workaround, turn OFF "Always Connected" and the "All-Day sync" features. Make sure to manually sync your devices at least once a day.

Thanks for your patience!

My notifications started working today, which they haven't been since I purchased the blaze two weeks ago. My battery has also lasted since Sunday, which is unprecedented for it. Perhaps there was an update? Curious if it will last.

The last update I believe was Friday. I've had my Blaze since June with my S7 and had no issues but it's when I got the S8 like 3 weeks ago that I get no notifications. Never at anytime did my notifications start working and Always Connected gives me terrible battery life. You are lucky.

The fact that they just release a new watch may explain why they have not had the time to spend on our problem . I bet it was all hands on deck to get out out .  Think about it,  they have our money,  but they can't get any money on all they have invested in the new one till they start selling new ones .

If this assumption is correct then maybe we will see some movement on our problem .

I'm glad to hear these updates.  I'm going to charge my Blaze and try using it again.  Hopefully, I'll have the same luck you are  🙂

It's too bad the current Blaze owners couldn't be lucky enough to be offered the new watch at a HUGE discount (assuming the bugs from the Blaze have been worked) to compensate for all of the issues we have dealt with while waiting for any updates on this issue.  As many others have stated before, at the very least, someone from Fitbit could at least acknowledge they are aware of the issue and that the so called workarounds really don't work

I share your frustration about the Blaze and agree with it being a software issue.  I can't see how the issue can be my S8+ because when I have an Alta HR or Charge 2 connected, I receive notifications and do not experience battery drain on either of those devices.  Depending on what I'm doing and how I use those devices, I get 3 - 5 days out of the battery.

There has been absolutely no response from Fitbit on this issue at all.

Just an update, only All Day Sync on and my battery life is almost dead after about 36 hours. I usually can go 4-5 days. This is evidence enough of a major issue with the BT using way too much power.

Yeah my battery is back to 24-36. I didn't account during my last post that it lasted longer due to the fact I was cramped inside during a storm. Now that I'm moving again, it's plummeting.

Sorry the issue in not related to S8 only.

I have the same issue on Oneplus One since the last SW update cca 2 weeks ago.

The battery is depleted in one day with all features turned off.

The blaze is used only 2 months so the battery should give more.

Before the update the blaze battery was last almost 4 days with most features on.

I always Sync manually because of flaws in the implementation of the sync.

This is ridiculous.  I got a Samsung galaxy s8 + 3 weeks ago and my battery dies instantly.  This will cause more headaches for fitbit once the note 8 debuts

That's an old message, the issue is that they are advertising it as being compatible when it's barely only half

Now they tell us it is not supported! Wouldn't you think with all the complaints that it would have been taken care of inmediately?

I think I am going to return mine and get another brand! This stinks for sure.

Both Galaxy S8 and S8+ is on the supported device list. They put them up there before they did notice this thread in july.
