Fitbit Update: 09/3/2017

Our team is still actively investigating the root cause of this battery drain with Blaze and the Samsung Galaxy S8/S8+. I'm sorry that many of you are still having issues with a shorter battery life, but rest assured this is being looked at as high-priority for our team. My apologies for the inconvenience, and thank you all for your patience! I will provide an update as soon as there is more information available. In the meantime, please continue manually syncing your Blaze trackers only when needed. This will help preserve the battery-life.

Fitbit Update: 08/14/2017

Hi everybody!

Thanks for reporting your experiences with a rapid battery drain on Blaze trackers and your Android device - Samsung Galaxy S8/S8+. Our team is aware this is affecting Blaze users and they are investigating the root cause. I will update this thread when there is more information available.

As a temporary workaround, turn OFF "Always Connected" and the "All-Day sync" features. Make sure to manually sync your devices at least once a day.

Thanks for your patience!

It did just out of the clear blue start to get notifications. Battery still holds only 1-2 days. Still needs to be supported by s8. Maybe battery will hold longer? Fitbit is not doing well with this one. I love fit bit but this is a big oops and should be fixed asap before more customers leave for other devices.

I checked the Fitbit website for compatible devices this morning and guess what? Yes the Galaxy S8 and S8+ now appear!

Well we shall see if they really are completely compatible.

I have the latest version of the app on my phone, version 2.52 dated 27th June 2017, will monitor over the next few days to see if the issues really have been resolved.

Nope. I have the latest version of the app. Unpaired my Blaze, uninstalled the app, restarted phone, reinstalled app, repaired blaze to get a fresh set up. Still no love. I get zero notifications and syncing is hit or miss. Will monitor the battery, but it's not looking good since it was at 50% when I got up 2 hours ago and is now already down to about 25%.

Update: Starting getting email notifications on the Blaze this morning. Text notifications followed about lunch time and as of 2:30 PM Eastern time call notifications have resumed as well. Battery life is still to be determined but it seems to be holding a little more steady today. Looks to be about 80% right now after taking it off the charger at 7 AM. For the past couple months it would have been down to about 50% by now. Fingers crossed.

Well the battery consumption is still greater than expected but I fully charged the Watch on Sunday morning 09:00hrs and it has survived until now Wednesday at 07:00hrs noting that there were 3 bars left in the red low battery display.

So about 3 days!

Still nowhere near the advertised 5 days life, but not bad.

I do get notifications and the watch syncs though that is still a little flakey, particularly if the watch and phone get separated I usually have to do a manual sync to get them going again.

GPS with the phone has been working OK but again a little flakey.

In conclusion its all sort of working for me at the moment, just not 100%, but I don't know why since there have been no updates from Fit Bit, just the web page I posted saying that the phone is compatible, strange!!!!

Cause: Samsung Galaxy S8.

Seriously people, the S8 has a bad Bluetooth implementation. Maybe Fitbit
can work around it, maybe they can't. But the device doesn't have this
battery issue with any other phone. The S8 is the issue.

What's sad is that you are blaming Fitbit for Samsung's Bluetooth issue.

I didn't even change to the S8. Still on S7 didn't change a thing but noticed all of a sudden my fitbit blaze battery emptying within a day... less than 24 hours where it used to last me 4 to 5 days before it needed a charge. I had syncing issues for about a week then 2 days ago it started syncing and I noticed the battery life since that time.

Hey blazer user.  I went into my blue tooth connections and found two blaze connection points.  I unpaired everything on my phone did reboots on my phone and fitbit blaze. Then paired them.   So far so good!
