Fitbit Update: 09/3/2017

Our team is still actively investigating the root cause of this battery drain with Blaze and the Samsung Galaxy S8/S8+. I'm sorry that many of you are still having issues with a shorter battery life, but rest assured this is being looked at as high-priority for our team. My apologies for the inconvenience, and thank you all for your patience! I will provide an update as soon as there is more information available. In the meantime, please continue manually syncing your Blaze trackers only when needed. This will help preserve the battery-life.

Fitbit Update: 08/14/2017

Hi everybody!

Thanks for reporting your experiences with a rapid battery drain on Blaze trackers and your Android device - Samsung Galaxy S8/S8+. Our team is aware this is affecting Blaze users and they are investigating the root cause. I will update this thread when there is more information available.

As a temporary workaround, turn OFF "Always Connected" and the "All-Day sync" features. Make sure to manually sync your devices at least once a day.

Thanks for your patience!

If it is a Samsung issue, then why does the Charge 2 work with the Samsung S8 without issue?  Explain that one FitBit???

They will call remove this post from the forum. I sent a similar message
which the forum administrator deemed "threatening". My vocabulary and
intent was just as nonthreatening and clear as yours but they found it
necessary to block the messages from reaching the rest of the forum. I have
tweeted to the co-founder and CEO of the company and included a link to the
forum. Of course, I have not received any form of suitable response. Let me
know when you get the message from Fitbit admin.

They removed several of my posts as well.  No word from anyone.  My thought is to return the watch and go to another brand.

I'm not sure it has been implemented perfectly. I notice on the Samsung forums there's a lot of complaints about the Bluetooth connection and instability. there could be a bug in the software that is causing the fitbit issue. both companies need to work together to identify it.

personally I've found when using my fitbit using always connected whilst streaming music from my phone usibg a2dp causes the audio to skip an awful lot. When I turn always connected off music streaming is nigh on perfect. yet i get no dropping in phone audio if I have to take a call.

My suspicions would be a bug in Samsung's software is causing a bug in fitbits software to cause high battery drain probably down to an unstable Bluetooth connection.

My Bluetooth works great when it is paired with other devices with zero
exceptions. I'm not a tech guy but it seems to me that my blaze is the only
issue I have. So, to me it puts the problem on Fitbit. Not to mention the
fact that they out here in these streets just willy-nilly dishing out
replacement Blazes like it's penny candy, seems to indicate some sort of
acknowledgement that they are the reason for the issue. I mean, if I'm
producing top notch almost $200 gadgets, I'm not about to just hand them
out because of another company's issues. That ain't how business works.

I can't get my blaze to pair with my s8. It keeps saying, pair rejected.

Glad I came across this. I've got a new s8 and thought my blaze was faulty!

unable to sync and battery is draining quickly.  Should the battery be replaced?  If so how?  unable to connect to blue tooth??

It's infuriating how long this has been going on! I feel like we've been punished, in a sense, for upgrading our phones! How can Fitbit not get things right on one of the biggest, if not THE biggest, Android manufacturer?!?! More importantly, how the HECK can Fitbit list the S8/S8+ as compatible devices?!? Isn't that false advertising in a sense?!?

I'm totally put off by Fitbit now and will likely be getting something else when the time comes!

Same battery issue with my Blaze and S8+

Also - I can't get my Blaze to connect with my phone's GPS to track runs.

Also - I can't get my One to connect to my S8+ at all.

Thank you!

I used to get at least 5 days now I can barely get 24 hours.

Also not receiving my notifications.

For me, it's the inconsistency. Same usage day to day but sometimes the battery goes 2 days before it needs a charge, some days it's less than 24 hrs before my blaze is dead. Fitbit replaced my original blaze, but this one does the exact same thing. Battery drains within a day. Makes me leary of upgrading to the iconic if this issue isn't fixed in the blaze.

On 2 different threads the only response from Fit bit I have seen is merging threads or editing titles. I think this forum is like the office thermostats, makes you feel better adjusting it but is not hooked up to anything

Have saved a lot of battery life by not using it

It seems that is what they are recommending by shutting down all the features you bought the watch to use

What is the point of having the tracker if you can't use for it's intended purpose?

It's been a while so I'll drop this into this forum again

there are definitely other Bluetooth problems with the S8 than just the Blaze battery drain. It's no excuse for FitBit not acknowledging the battery drain or sending hardware replacements for no reason or saying the Blaze is compatible with the S8 (it is not), but it does mean there is a chance that this is actually a Samsung problem and not a FitBit problem.

I gave up with mine trying to get 2 days or the 5 days that i should get. I just watch the battery life and charge it when batteries low. It sucks but it works for now.
