Battery draining Blaze

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I have a Fitbit blaze that is completely dead. I cannot charge the battery and when I plug it in, the screen turns on like normal, but even after I allow it time for a full charge, the battery says it is completely dead.  I think it needs a reset or something along those lines, but I can't utilize any of the buttons or anything like that because the battery is dead.  Any suggestions?

The Blaze has an advanced charge control circuit that prevents overcharging.

Hi everyone! Welcome to the thread for the new faces! I'm sorry you're having problems with the battery on your trackers not working.

@shanecohio @Akwesasne, I've escalated your case to the Support Team for them to help you out. Please keep an eye on your inbox for more instructions!

@Jaci8 @DameB @Jacqui72 , I can recommend putting your tracker to charge and once it's fully charged, take it off the charger and put it on. Sync it and use it as you would normally do. Make sure to sync it frequently after this (every one or two hours at least) so that the battery levels are recorded on the app logs and once the battery dies, let me know so that I can take a closer look and then we can move forward with other options to get you back on track.

If you guys need anything else, I'm always around!

I charged my Fitbit a few hours ago. Not many steps were taken. Low battery alert received a few minutes ago.

I did everything customer service suggested, including syncing every hour
so the battery life could be tracked. All customer support did was agree
that my battery had a problem and offer me a discount on another Fitbit
product.

Hi yes, you should charge your Fitbit when the battery is low which should be between 3 to 6 days.  By charging it daily it is not getting a chance to drain fully, hence it will not get a full charge even if it shows fully charged it isn’t.  It will not keep a charge very long.  You could change this by letting it drain fully then start to charge it , which should take no longer than an hour.  It may take a full weeks to get it to except a full charge.

Same here. They offer a discount but very little on a fix.

Yes.  It took a few weeks of fully draining it charging it (if it is not fully charged in an hour it is not charging) before it started to begin actually charging fully.  I do understand everyone’s frustration with the Fitbit.  It works great than it doesn’t.  I think I threw my first one over the Greater New Orleans Bridge!!!  Let me know what other sport watches you have looked into.  Once this one croaks , I would like to get something different.  Maybe the Apple!?!?!?  🤷🏼‍:female_sign:

Hey @Tammy1105@drussell and @BOBRED it's great to see you participating.

@drussell and @Tammy1105, since the troubleshoot you have tried didn't work, I've gone ahead and escalated your case to our support team, for them to take a deeper look at this. Please keep an eye on your inbox for further instructions.

@BOBRED, you mentioned that you have already contacted support and were offered a discount. If you are interested in using that discount, in this page you will be able to compare the trackers in which you can apply that offer. Maybe there is one that meet your needs.

Catch you later. Robot Happy

I am having the same problem with maintaining the charge on my blaze. I have tried all the recommendations provided on your community recommendations.  I have cleaned and rebooted the blaze as mentioned. I start out with a full charge every morning, which only last eight hours then the blaze will die.  This has been going on for 6 months or more and it’s been getting worse. Now during the day, the time on the blaze changes to a different time and  I have to re-sync my watch to get the correct time.   Since the time started changing during the day to a different time, and dies on me within 8 hours, it’s to the point it has become a inconvience.   It frustrating to always have to charge my blaze every night but now since the time keeps changes for no reason during the day, it does me know good and I am unable to wear my watch anymore.    Also,  I only  have one green light working on the back of my blaze. The other has been out for a long time. Not sure if this is part of the problem. I have had 3 fitbits.  2 charges and 1 blaze. Love the product, it fits my workout needs but find that Fitbit only last 1 1/2 - 2 yrs due to battery issue or on the charge the band wears out.

Writing this message is my last effort to gettimg the blaze to properly work.  Are there any other recommendations i can try to get the blaze on track before i move forward on purchasing another product.

I will unhappily join the chorus here.

Mine isn't even holding a charge four hours now.  Charged it overnight, put it on and within an hour it was totally drained.  This has been happening for the last several days.

I also notice that the green light is staying constantly on when it is out of the charger.  Don't remember that happening.

My Blaze is over two years old and it has worked just fine until this sudden extreme problem. Doesn't seem like the device battery should go to fully functional to fully dysfunctional so quickly.

I've seen the hundreds of comments on multiple threads, but no practical help from the Support Staff.

Anyone figure out how to fix this?

Thanks,.

I, too, have been having this issue. It appears to have started last Friday. Up until then, I was getting at least 4 days. Now, I get about one day. Did something change or update within the last week that might be causing this issue? Love my Blaze, but I need something that is dependable. I have tried all the fixes I can. I am thinking of maybe getting a Versa or Ionic, but I am concerned about accuracy issues I have been reading. Frustrating.

I was thinking about getting the Ionic too, but have been reading the Fitbit community forum regarding the issues they are having w the ionic.  I going to do more search.

Same issue. Battery life has been decreasing regularly on my blaze. I charged it to full Tuesday late night before I went to bed and didn't do any exercise Wed, & Thursday night it ran out of batteries at 2 am. I rebooted it twice, cleaned the contacts (which I do regular

So, I got the standard, "too bad, so sad, we're so sorry, you're out of warranty" message so many others have gotten.

Since my Blaze was never a very good heart rate monitor to begin with, I'm willing to take suggestions on other brands/makes/models to buy to replace my now dead and sitting on a shelf Blaze.
