Fitbut blaze calculates bmr as like 2400. BMR calculator online has BMR 1690 and by hand I get 1693. I have my correct ht/wt/age in account. Is there a way to change this? Is anyone else getting too high of a BMR?

@JessicaSe A warm welcome to the Community! I would like to get more details, so I can investigate it. At the end of the day, what's the total amount of calories burned? Are you doing the same activities everyday?
Also, you may want to use this BMR calculator and check your calories burned in your Dashboard.
Keep me posted.

Hi, @JessicaSe , you should double check that your weight is entered as 214 lbs. and not 214 kgs. That would account for what you are seeing.

@JessicaSe , well something in the system has definitely got muddled, because Fitbit's calculation of BMR is usually quite close to the online calculators. If you feel like playing a bit, since your setting currently says lbs, I would suggest changing it to kgs and saving your settings. See what effect that has on your BMR calculation... Then go back and change it back to lbs and save again. See if that changes anything...

I'm having the same issue. I don't wear my fitbit blaze at night as I find it too uncomfortable and I dont feel the need to track my sleep. I've had the blaze for a week and I've found it quite acurate up to now but this morning I went to put the blaze on my wrist at 8am and noticed that it said I had already burnt 1200 calories. I have looked at my calories chart on the app and it looks like the blaze has me down as burning 4 calories every five minutes as my BMR which I have calculated as correct (5ft 4, 59kg, female, age 41) so why does the watch say I've burnt over a 1000 calories before I've even got out of bed? I don't shutdown my fitbit blaze at night - should I if I'm not wearing it?

@lizziedrippWelcome... It is definitely high.. Use this calculator which is the same as the equations Fitbit use and confirmed by various Moderators.
Looking at the graph the sleep calories look OK. The Calculator gives your 4.58 calories/5 minutes BMR and in that 9 hour sleep period it should only total 494 calories. The extra is coming from elsewhere.
Shutting down the Blaze won't help because Fitbit always calculates the BMR. You would need to sync after you turn it on to get the time correct.

Thanks Colin,
I'm just going to write yetsurday's calorie reading off as a glitch. This morning when I put my Blaze on it was reading 398 calories so whatever was going on yesturday I have no idea!
I'll keep an eye on it.
