Does the Blaze have replacable batteries? If not, what is the ultimate or overall life expectancy of the batteries? I don't want to have to spend every year when the batteries stop holding a charge.

Hello, @Mplaskett13! Welcome aboard. Well, battery life can vary with use, settings, and other factors. Your fully charged Blaze has a battery life of up to five days. This are some tips to take good care of your battery:

  • If you won’t be using your Blaze for a while, you can conserve battery life by shutting it down. To do so, swipe to the Settings screen and swipe up to find Shutdown.
  • If you don't need a heart rate reading, change the Heart Rate setting to Off. The Auto setting uses less battery than the On setting. Note that if you turn off Heart Rate, you'll need to restart your tracker after you turn heart rate back on.
  • Make sure to dont overcharge your battery by leaving it charging more than 2 hours.
  • Charge it only after it completely dies
  • Charge it to a computer USB port or UL certified wall charger.

If you do all this your tracker should last for at least 2 year, I hope this helps, let me know. 🙂

Welcome to the Community @Mplaskett13. No, this tracker doesn't have replaceable battery, you need to charge it but actually, the Blaze battery life is awesome, mine lasts 7 days.

I have a flex that i love but it is getting old (1and a half years) and has
to be charged every 2 days now. I dont want to buy something that is only
going to last for a year.

Thanks for the response. I have a Flex that I love, however, I don't like that it only lasted a year and a half. I now have to charge it every two days, but can't see myself replacing something every two years because the batteries can't be replace. Once they can make something with replacable batteries, I think I will come back to Fitbit. Until then, I guess I will go back to my Garmin Vivo Fit. I do like the Fitbit more, but the Garmin has been on daily for a year and a half as well, but has replacable batteries when they die out.

Hey, @Mplaskett13! Have you tried to clean the contacts of your Flex and charger?  Please give it a try, this is a common problem for dirty contacts. Check this video that explains very well how to do it.

I hope this helps, let me know.

I don't have any problems charging. It charges just fine, but will not hold the charge for more than 2 days, sometimes less. It's OK, I am slowly giving up on it. I have to carry a charger with me or just charge it often. I will use it until it doesn't work anymore and will not be replacing it until I can find something with replaceable batteries. Thanks for your help.

I have had my Blaze for a couple weeks now and my battery does not last more than 36 hours.  Quick View is off, no alarms set, Heart Rate is on auto and no tracking of any exercises, etc.   Just wearing it from the time it's done charging until it dies.  Any suggestions?  Or do I need to call support??

All batteries have a defined life where it will not hold much of a charge based on the number of charge/discharge cycles it has done and depending on how old your Blaze is the battery could just be at end of life.

There are replacement batteries online which are much cheaper than a new tracker but you will need to find someone with soldering skills to replace it for you since Fitbit do not have repair services
