Blaze Classic refusing to stay paired.

For some reason my Blaze refuses to stay paired to the Blaze Classic setting. When I look under Bluetooth settings on my Android phone I see Blaze and Blaze Classic.

1) What's the difference? I've noticed turning off Blaze stops me from receiving text notifications while turning off Blaze Classic turns of music controls.

2) Blaze stays connected all the time, it's only Blaze Classic that keeps dropping. It's pretty much at the point that I have to repair the Blaze every single time I want to use my Blaze to control music playback even though my Blaze is hardly ever more than a few feet from my Android device.

FWIW my Blaze is running firmware 17.8.200.3 which I'm assuming is the most recent. I also have the Always Connected function enabled in the Blaze section of the Fitbit app.

Hello @SeattleSUP! It's great to have you here. To answer your first question, the Bluetooth classic is only used for the music control feature. If you turn off the Bluetooth your tracker will stop receiving notifications and it won't sync to your phone. To answer your second question I would like to ask if you turn off the Bluetooth of your phone? If you do the Bluetooth classic will turn off and you will have to set it up again. Also if restart your phone you will have to set up the music control again.

Looking forward to your new comments. Woman Very Happy

No, I've never turned off Bluetooth. Also the phone is never more than 10 feet away from Blaze. Despite this, I have to go in and manually pair the Blaze to my phone pretty much every single time I want the music controls to work.

Thanks for the information @SeattleSUP. I would like to know if you keep having problems with the music control feature on your Blaze? If you do, I recommend forgetting the Blaze Classic and set it up one more time by doing the following:

  1. On your Fitbit Blaze:
    1. Swipe to Settings.
    2. Scroll to Bluetooth Classic.
    3. Tap the Bluetooth Classic option until the setting is Pair.
  2. On your mobile device:
    1. Navigate to the Bluetooth Setting screen where paired devices are listed. Your mobile device should be scanning for devices.
    2. When “Blaze Classic” is shown as an available device, select it.
    3. Wait for a message displaying a six-digit number.
  3. Perform the following two steps in close succession:
    1. When the same six-digit number appears on your Blaze, tap “Yes” on your tracker.
    2. On your mobile device, select Pair.

I hope this helps, let me know the outocome. Woman Happy
