9/23 Update:
See the new firmware thread here
9/22 Update:
For those that have the firmware update already, new clock faces have been re-enabled.
We've continued the rollout process. If you don't yet have the update, please be patient. We'll post updates about the rollout when we have more information.
9/19 Update:
Hey everyone - it seems like we're struggling to maintain civil conversation on this topic, so I'm going to go ahead and lock the thread. We'll open a new thread once the firmware update goes into wider distribution. Until then, here are answers to the questions that keep getting asked here:
When will I be able to download the latest update?
The update is on hold while our team addresses an issue found at the beginning of the release. Once their work is complete, we will start rolling it out again. We generally don't announce specific dates or timeframes, but you will see the update on your dashboard as soon as it is available. The only thing you need to do right now is wait patiently.
Why did you release the latest update to only a small percentage of users?
We've done tons of testing on this new firmware, but there can still be unexpected issues when we release it. If every Blaze customer updated at once, those surprises would affect everyone. Instead, we use an incremental release to observe and address issues on a relatively small scale. We definitely want the best experience possible for our Blaze customers, and a slow, cautious release helps accomplish that goal.
If only 5% of Blaze users have the update now, does that mean 10% will have it next week and 15% will have it the week after? Won't that take forever?
Nope! We aren't moving in 5% increments. We started the release at 5% and will increase it in much larger increments once we are confident that it's good to go. You should receive it soon.
Why haven't you communicated this information to customers?
All this information was previously posted in this thread, and also added to the lead post. Any time you find a discussion of an emerging issue or a newly-released update, make sure to check the first post for the latest information. We aim for clear, concise, transparent, and frequent communication - you should always find what you need in the lead post.
9/15 Update:
The new Blaze update is currently available only to a very small percentage of users, as we are troubleshooting some emerging issues. It will be released more widely soon. Once it is available, you will see a banner at the top of your website or mobile app dashboard. Thanks for your patience!
Hey everyone!
We're rolling out a new update for Blaze, release notes below:
This release also resolves the following issue:
Important to note: A sync is required after a manual shutdown or a battery drain in order to show the correct time on Blaze. This is especially important for your activity tracked by Blaze because you'll want to make sure it's associated with the current date and time.
The initial wave of users will receive the update starting September 12th, 2016, and will eventually be rolled out to everyone within a few days. If the update to the latest firmware version is not yet available for your Blaze, just hang tight!

@TotesAndGoats We do keep the lead post of this thread updated with new information. How about if I add a notation to the subject to show when new updates are posted? That way you can glance at the thread name and know whether there is new info in the lead post. I'll also add a notation to the Announcement space at the top-right of the board.
I generally prefer to have a discussion space so that we can answer questions, but we'll consider a locked update thread in the future if that makes the status more clear. Thanks for the feedback.

I actually recieved the update a few days ago and love it. I did download the update and change the watch face and when I went back in to change to a different face all of the new ones were gone but I did get to keep the one I had installed. Now on my Iphone there is no watch faces new or old so I had to switch to my Android to change to the old faces. Other than that I love the update and the new watch face I was able to keep.

So I am confused...
Did fitbit push out a fix for the issues regarding not being able to see the new watch faces? If so, I still have not received that fix and I still don't see the new watch faces at all. Everything else with this new firmware update is working except the new watch faces. This was the new feature that I was most excited about too so I am anxiously awaiting a fix! Let me know! Thanks!

@jvrbancic The ability to choose new clock faces has been universally disabled, since it was causing some issues with the rollout. We will update the lead post of this thread as soon as the new clock faces return.

I like that idea @MatthewFitbit. I don't like reading everyones complaints. I do wish that when you started this post that you said there were only a select number of people to get it so that you could work out some other bugs that may have come up. I don't like that it say everyone would get the update in the next few days.

@klierkay Thanks for sharing those thoughts. We did include some info in the first post regarding the progressive rollout, but it definitely could have been made more apparent. We'll make sure to highlight that point in the future.
@Katehall04 Please check the bold text at the top of the first post in this thread.

This new release certainly has some issues!!
I updated, had the new clock faces (which are most welcome btw) and updated to one only to see them get removed which gave me huge sync issues which I eventually sorted. I understand they will return and look forward to that.
Current issues I've noticed are that the heart-rate history doesn't like to work until the following day, despite numerous syncs taking place and all other info synced. Also I'm not at all convinced by the calorie count that seems to be consuming at a much higher rate than before the update. I can sit on my bum all day and burn 3k calories...no way.
On a side note, is there any way I can revert to the previous release until you've fixed the glitches please?

We all know they are quick to market to stay ahead of the curve. Good companies, ones that survive DO UPDATE regularly their products. The lifecycle and age of the devices are short to begin with. A company who doesn't 'eek' out a bit more capability regularly from their devices is either after a money grab or not interested in their consumers. It is a company some of us will not want to do business with. It's one of the reason Apple continues to do well. They support their products for a long time.
You said it your self, there is a short life cycle of these products so updates and upgraed of new features usually does not occur, because by the time it does the newer/better product is coming out.
As for this specific quote, "not true racetempo. First some of us who bought it within the last month and bought with the expectation that they would release what they promised - it does matter." They never gave a date to exptect a release until the past week, so if you bought within the past month you literally bought it on an IOU, or on data that was not promised by Fitbit until last week. Fitbit later gave a timeframe of September, and they are still within that timeframe, so they have done nothing wrong, yet. They literally have until October 1 based on their own press release before any complaining really hold water.
As mentioned above, Apple supporting their products is a different comparison and not fair to Fitbit. It is like saying that Yugo does not take as good of care of their customers as Ferrari does. I am not saying that Fitbit is Yugo quality, just saying that the size of the company and resources are infinate for one compared to the other.
