Firmware version 17.8.301.8 - Resolves a syncing issue with Apple iOS version 10.2

Workout mode missing? Not a problem! Just follow the steps for adding it back

 Hey everyone! Robot Happy

We're rolling out a new update for Blaze, release notes below:

  • In addition to call, text, and calendar event notifications, thirdpartyapps.jpgyou can receive notifications from email and other third-party apps on your tracker.Common emojis also appear. Keep in mind all notifications currently on your tracker will be deleted after the update.
  • You can receive reminders to move throughout the day.
  • Five new clock faces are available. Navigate to your device settings and check them out!

This release also resolves the following issue:

  • Some users reported that auto-brightness was too dim or delayed.

Important to note: A sync is required after a manual shutdown or a battery drain in order to show the correct time on Blaze. This is especially important for your activity tracked by Blaze because you'll want to make sure it's associated with the current date and time.

My app automatically updated itself on 24rd with the iPhone iOS 10 update, this was just to fix bugs and to be inline with the iPhone 7 software but I've had no notification to update the blaze with new spec, is this right? X

Firstly can I just say I really feel for the moderators on here.  I believe @AndrewFitbit has done a great job telling us what he can.  The slow rollout is not his fault and we shouldn't direct frustrations at him.

I am still awaiting my blaze update, and think the way it has been rolled out and communicated has been poor.  This is a lesson learned for Fitbit and I'm sure it will be taken on board and not happen again as they will see people looking elsewhere.  I don't believe because I got my Blaze early doors I am entitled to the update before others, but waiting...and waiting over these 'next few days' is frustrating.

Could the moderators please post what changes will be made to the rollout process in future to avoid a repeat of people trolling and infighting between posts.  I'll keep awaiting my update and like others, I'm sure it will be fantastic when it arrives.

I got my update yesterday evening. Suddenly the pink arrow was there. The upgrade went on smoothly, took about 5 minutes, or even less, one or two clicks, no need for interaction. The installation was perfect, but the rollout process itself was not professional - as a lot of others already stated it before me. I understand the reasoning for a staged rollout. But it could/should come together with an individual mail to every user when his/her term is coming. As Fitbit must have a plan who get the new verison and when, such a mail can eliminate the zillion complains and questions of 'when will I get it?'.

Regarding the new features. The new faces are fine and nice, but it is just a gimmic, doesn't add any fitness or health related capability. Same for notifications: it is nice, it is a gimmic, and mostly useful only in English speaking world, as most of the languages are not supported. The inactivity notification is cool and it is a fitness issue, therefore much more important than the other features. Its usefullness is still questionable as I don't remember getting a ring, even while I was quite stationary in the last 2 hours . Either I didn't notice it or the feature doesn't work.

Most important are the features not included into this release, the new features of Charge 2, which are fitness related and to my humble understanding are entirely S/W related. In other words, don't require  a new sensor, H/W, and such can be and should be included in a high end device like Blaze. I saw a lot of complains about these missing feature, and even when this thread is related to this verison's rollout process, the need and demand for these features must be stated here also.

Hi all just got update for blaze. Clock faces are great. Everything is working fine except the Gmail function in email. Do I need to set it up on Gmail or should it just receive emails when toggled. I have 3 gmail accounts will I receive email for all 3 or the default one. Cheers

Email - do you get notifications on the phone for all three accounts?  If so I would assume you will get the notifications passed through to the Blaze.

On my phone I have two gmail accounts set up, but I only have notifications enabled for one of these (in the gmail app), in this case I would only expect to get the notifications for that accounts as that is what the phone is surfacing.

@Enkerli the reason the problem wasn't caught in the beta is because the problem was not in the update but in the delivery of the update. For some reason the initial release with the new clock faces was causing the problems, removing the clock face the update went fine. If you remember People where getting the update fine without the clock face, it also was announced that when the update is fully released the clock faces will be turned back on. Last week they discovered where the failure was, corrected it, then reinstated the faces.

I swtiched from android app to iOS app for updating the Blaze and it updated smoothly, so I think error was in android app.

Getting emails now. I turned on automatic time zone and turned of automatic location and selected my region to Europe. Synced app and started to get emails? Don't know if it helped or it was just a coincidence.???

Just received my update, loving the new clock faces as this allows me to choose one that gives me just the right level of info.

Notifications are great, emails coming through which is great to see. And the reminders to move are brilliant, as it does force me to get out of my seat!!!

All in all, it was worth being patient for, it makes me want to use my Blaze more than ever!

maybe being so far they would not easily go in SF getting wild in case of trouble... lol I am silly, just kidding... 🙂

I am in Europe, btw, just for the record, the blaze was dissociated by the app this morning, so had to re-config again. App notification need to get reconnected as well. the unit seems working fine.
