Firmware version 17.8.301.8 - Resolves a syncing issue with Apple iOS version 10.2

Workout mode missing? Not a problem! Just follow the steps for adding it back

 Hey everyone! Robot Happy

We're rolling out a new update for Blaze, release notes below:

  • In addition to call, text, and calendar event notifications, thirdpartyapps.jpgyou can receive notifications from email and other third-party apps on your tracker.Common emojis also appear. Keep in mind all notifications currently on your tracker will be deleted after the update.
  • You can receive reminders to move throughout the day.
  • Five new clock faces are available. Navigate to your device settings and check them out!

This release also resolves the following issue:

  • Some users reported that auto-brightness was too dim or delayed.

Important to note: A sync is required after a manual shutdown or a battery drain in order to show the correct time on Blaze. This is especially important for your activity tracked by Blaze because you'll want to make sure it's associated with the current date and time.

Another morning, another missing update.  I am starting to feel I will be the last man standing.  I have worn my battery on my phone and Blaze hitting refresh every 30 minutes.  I also went to my doctor for pains in my thumb for swiping down.  I will be submitting this to FitBit for reimbersement.

Hoping Today is the day.... it is all fun and games until you are the only one without the new cool software.  I feel like I am back in high school and I being picked for the volleyball team.....

You are not alone... I do not expect to receive the update this week either. But I'm not that excited anymore. It's like waiting for a birthday gift after you've had your birthday party. Anticlimax.

@Lavan please go to your device settings on the web and change it there. Now do a sync

Well I think today is the day. And if. It today it will surely. Be tomorrow. It was 30% deployed on Monday about 3pm and updates kept going out. I'm sure they'd hit about 60% today and keep pushing. I'm good now. I just wanted to see some progress. I think about 2PM I'll have a nice lil pink arrow popping up. Lol.

agree 100%! "Soon" is too loose a definition. Gives the impresssion it means "we don't know"

If it is any consolation to those still waiting your heightened sense of anticipation is probably unwarranted.

Don't get me wrong the update does provide much needed improvements to the tracker display with the reconfigured watch faces to show heart rate and step count.  Also the reminder to move  is a handy feature.  But like others have said the RTM alert is easy to miss. And that's it. There may be other hidden bug fixes but these are not apparent.

The update is hardly likely to wow you and the features are probably what should have been included in the first place anyway.

To provide balance and to avoid the wrath of adminstrator censorship, I still enjoy my FitBit after 2 months of use. It has loads of potential in its application so let us hope the developers have some really impressive feature updates lined up for the future.

I'm guessing that either no one knows, or nobody reads these posts

I feel slightly let down by the update process.

As someone that bought and started using the Blaze at release it would be nice to be one of the first to get the update.

Run the update release in order of when the Blaze was registered with an active account. Early adopters get the first updates and folks that just bought one get it later.

Randomly selecting people to release to is a bit ridiculous.

Here's hoping I get some new watch faces and notification options today. (Doubt it though)

I think that FitBit is sharing the update by activity. And that's why I will be one of the last to get the update.

Just kidding.

So just wait patiently for the update. From what I read in other threads: it is worth waiting.

I received the update yestwrday and agree, itsnice, but not as exvoting ad anticipayed. ON facebook notifications it only shows who commented on your post, you still have to look at your phone or computer to see what the comment is. Haven't tried the email yet. So far only really happy with the move reminder as it shows how many steps are left and counts it down, but the reminder is barely noticeable, and that you can get comments and notifications from fitbit challenges. The one watchface I like, the red for the clock doesn't show up very well in the dark. And my alarm didn't work this morning.

I understand releasing it to 5% of people in case something goes wrong, which it did, although I don't see why they can't open up a beta and allow 5% of people to join.

But releasing it in stages without telling people when, "soon", is rather disappointing. It's not like an iOS update where thousands if not millions of people are waiting for the update, I think a large portion of Blaze users don't know there's an update coming. The ones waiting are the ones eager to try out the new features, yet they are being let down. Just release it to everyone and queue downloads if it's a server issure, those who are eager will get on it first and others will get it when they see it or have time.

Ok i will be beend 24hrs again for telling this I think that firmware update rolling is the worst way to go you said it to see to spot issues of firmware what are you telling us that the firmware was tested before coming out if that was true you don't need rolling so the reason that you take time to roll the firmware is because it was not ready for release so I will wait for it but stop telling us it coming to everybody soon when it not people are no fouls Fitbit messes up and don't want to said sorry but I still love my blaze you are so lucky for that Fitbit so next time tell the truth to your customers and they will love you for it

Where do I go to see if I have the update available? Does it just show up on my dashboard? @AndrewFitbit

@Ghostrider1018 - When you chosen to get the update, your dashboard will let you know.  I have also heard that some user get a vibration on their Blaze.  For most of us we get refreshing on the dashboard to check.

I guess you get what you pay for with the blaze. only partial text messages, extremely slow firmware updates and limited third party notifications. By the time I receive this update I will be switching to Apple Watch 3.
