Firmware version 17.8.301.8 - Resolves a syncing issue with Apple iOS version 10.2

Workout mode missing? Not a problem! Just follow the steps for adding it back

 Hey everyone! Robot Happy

We're rolling out a new update for Blaze, release notes below:

  • In addition to call, text, and calendar event notifications, thirdpartyapps.jpgyou can receive notifications from email and other third-party apps on your tracker.Common emojis also appear. Keep in mind all notifications currently on your tracker will be deleted after the update.
  • You can receive reminders to move throughout the day.
  • Five new clock faces are available. Navigate to your device settings and check them out!

This release also resolves the following issue:

  • Some users reported that auto-brightness was too dim or delayed.

Important to note: A sync is required after a manual shutdown or a battery drain in order to show the correct time on Blaze. This is especially important for your activity tracked by Blaze because you'll want to make sure it's associated with the current date and time.

Thank you. Update received. All went well. 2 tries to load a clock face but all good. Long wait but the blaze I love has been improved.

@Mastr The update is definitely available to everyone at this point, but if you're having trouble finding it, check out our help article on how to update your tracker.

@Cherry0707 It's possible that they just misunderstood the situation. In any case, I would update your Blaze and let them know it's working (if you're able to update successfully).

I got a message when I synced my Blaze this morning that an update was available. I clicked to download the update. It told me 5-10 minutes. That was 4 hours ago. My battery is now almost dead and I can't get the bloomin thing to do anything but show me the update screen (which obviously is not working). I have powered it off - powered off my phone - restarted the app etc nothing is working!  When I open the app now it shows the update available but when I click update now it can't find my tracker. Meanwhile my tracker is acting like it is updating. HELP!

This also happened to me. I have an iPhone and there are two ways to connect via BT, I had "Classic" disabled because it always connects via the other method, however, 3 attempts at updating failed so I re-enabled "Classic" and away it went. No problems since.

How long should the update take?  I am into my 2nd hour!

There are probably suddenly new Server fall from the sky? Strangely, all the weeks, the Fitbit infrastructure was too small for a update for every user. Or did you just lie? Fitbit customer service👎 This is just frustrating...

@AndrewFitbit I attempted to update my blaze, now the screen is black and won't respond to any buttons. The app tells me to plug it in and again no response. It still says an update is required and now it will not connect to my phone. The HR pure pulse is still going, but otherwise it appears the blaze is on functioning.

Anyone know how I can just turn my blaze off?  I have tried holding the left and bottom right buttons.. That does nothing.. this is so frustrating!

@AndrewFitbit I've ran the update it took a long while but now my Blaze won't sync with my Android app. It keeps saying tracker not found... But I will reach out to support hopeful that they'll be helpful...

Edit:Now not only is my Blaze not syncing with my Fitbit app AT ALL but my clock face somehow changed to POP without me even bothering with clock faces!!!! And it wont let me chose the face I had because it wont sync via my phone and online it shows me the faces but there isnt a choose button anywhere!!

In settings, there's a shutdown button.

@sweetpea5899 Have you tried scrolling through the watch to the settings screen and then scrolling to the shutdown option? That will turn your Blaze off and to turn it back on just press the left button for a second or so

@sweetpea5899 I meant press the left button not read(that made no sense 😐)

The “thanks for bearing with us” comment makes a difference. If Fitbit wants us on its side, it's community managers should be on our side.

Finally received the update when I got all looking good 🙂

Thank you very much Fitbit for all of the hard work done behind the scenes!

If anyone hasn't gotten the update yet this is what it looks like when it is waiting for you:

@nlmux I've experienced that myself in the past when my Internet connection wasn't stable. If you notice the update taking way longer than expected (and if it's not close to being done), then you might want to force quit the app, make sure your connection is good, then re-initiate the update. That's what has worked for me before.

I was hesitant to interrupt the update, but after an hour I did so. After another 40 minutes, the update was shown as being successful. I changed the clock face in the app. Now the Blaze will not sync to my phone and I have a screen with Clock Error on the Blaze. I have tried restarting both the Blaze and my phone with no change in status. What now? I cannot use the Blaze at all.

Edit: I walked away from everything in frustration. I came back to find that the Blaze screen had cleared to the selected clock face and all appears to be working. The new clock face is great.

I do have to say how disappointed I am that a very-much-requested feature was not implemented. Such a simple request to have been ignored. What a shame.

Ha! Just got the language update, a few hours after the main firmware update. Now my Blaze is fully in French, which is a nice and unexpected update. (Was probably part of the release notes but it's the kind of thing which doesn't catch my attention.)
Neat!

Awesome experience. Downloaded and firmware update complete in 5 minutes. All the features worked after jntitial set up. The first thing I did was switch the face to Moment. Got my reminder to move notification. So far have notifications for - Emails, Tagged. I've been pushing more apps to send alerts to my phone so they can show up. I really like the update.

Im glad that I didn't spend another $400 for an Apple Watch. I like the notification feature from the extra apps and that's all I wanted. I was cool awith the original 3 but I'm sold with not switching since I get the other app notes. Really cool. It's an added bonus for getting the Blaze in April because I wasn't expecting it (until recent).

Blaze has a problem with synching second hand to phone time. It is off by a second after the synch and will stay that way. Also, if shut down, time is lost substantially until it's resynchronized.
