Firmware version 17.8.301.8 - Resolves a syncing issue with Apple iOS version 10.2

Workout mode missing? Not a problem! Just follow the steps for adding it back

 Hey everyone! Robot Happy

We're rolling out a new update for Blaze, release notes below:

  • In addition to call, text, and calendar event notifications, thirdpartyapps.jpgyou can receive notifications from email and other third-party apps on your tracker.Common emojis also appear. Keep in mind all notifications currently on your tracker will be deleted after the update.
  • You can receive reminders to move throughout the day.
  • Five new clock faces are available. Navigate to your device settings and check them out!

This release also resolves the following issue:

  • Some users reported that auto-brightness was too dim or delayed.

Important to note: A sync is required after a manual shutdown or a battery drain in order to show the correct time on Blaze. This is especially important for your activity tracked by Blaze because you'll want to make sure it's associated with the current date and time.

Thanks for the update!  Is there a comprehensive list of what 3rd Party App notifications are supported?  ie: Facebook, Instagram, Twitter etc ...

Thanks!!

@AndrewFitbit @MatthewFitbit hi guys, I received the firmware update a few hours ago. Everything went smooth. However, I noticed all notifications are working properly except text messages, which are actually iMessage (on iPhone). This is something I was havig even with the previous firmware and it seems to have started since I updated to iOS 10... I have the latest Fitbit app for iOS, latest iOS version and latest firmware. Any idea?

My iPhone app is showing only 25% progress "updating" after 2 hours. Is it hanging up because of user volume or something of that nature? Any recommendations on next steps? Thanks.

I've seen a few of you say the update is taking too long. You can try waiting out the update if you want, but normally I would do the following if that ever happens to me:

1. Force close the app

2. Restart your tracker (and probably your phone too)

3. Make sure you have a solid Internet connection

4. Try updating again (can also try updating through another device or PC)

@Lavan @nlmux If you're seeing the clock face error, try selecting one of the older clock faces, then sync again. If you're having trouble syncing, I'd recommend checking out this help article.

Yup, me as well. I can't imagine they would download live while updating the device. I suspect phone issues. It would be nice if someone somewhere actually posted the the install time. The 10 miutes figure the app gives is probably BS. Fortunately bailing out in the middle has no ill effects. I guess no update for us.

My update too less than 10 minutes, it hung once but just clicked the try again button and off it went. I find that it's best not to let the phone sleep whilst it's updating.

To put things in perspective, this update was announced on the 22nd it is now the 27th. Only 5 days and 24 pages of "I don't have the update yet" messages.

My Blaze is updating as we we speak. Hooray!

Update update: It took about 20 minutes to fully download and install the update, but there were no freezes, clock faces are changing with no problem, and new notifications are coming in from any app I want! Wonderful!

I noticed I have an update for the Blaze.  However, when I try to update it using the mobile device (IPhone) it tells me Request failed:  Forbidden (403).  I don't know how to update it using my computer.

Sooo… Which notifications did you activate? My favourites, so far, are those from the Transit app. That way, can be warned of when my stop is without fishing out my phone. Really convenient and might become more so during the winter (thigh it remains to be seen how easy to keep the tracker in view under a big coat).
It's also pretty nice to have some notifications not appear on the tracker. For instance, disabled Swarm and Instagram notifications, as they probably aren't time-sensitive. Keeping the Facebook notifs, at this point, but may turn them off as the signal to noise ratio is a bit low.
Wish app makers (or OS vendors) offered more granularity in the notifications. It's already nice to select which apps can send us notifications, but it'd be useful to have some phone-only notifications as opposed to phone+devices.
Wonder how things work with the Pebble Core. Really intrigued by that one.

So I opened my FitBit app after dinner to log some water and food, and there was the "pink arrow". I followed the instructions and 9 minutes later it was updated. No issues at all! Picked a new clock face and went to "Today" on my tracker and saw some new entries. I'm assuming that the "move" notifications are automatic and I don't have to turn anything on? I'm in a suburb just east of Buffalo and I'm mentioning this for the gentleman from Buffalo inquired if anyone locally had gotten the update yet. Thanks for the update.

@Amie_Goodwin Mine took nearly 3 hours to update. Put both the Blaze & Phone on charge, start the update and go do something else. It will finish. I guess everyone is downloading at once. The new clock faces are excellent so it's worth the wait.

Finally got the update this morning. Updated in under 5 minutes and took it for a run with connected GPS. The new update is working fine so far and the new watch faces and notifications are good. Here's hoping everyone else have a great experience with the update too.

@Cherry0707 of course there was no pink, arrow for you, your on an Android phone, the pink arrow is only on iOS.

@Mastr really, you've been waiting 4 weeks for an update that was only announced, and hers about, 5 days ago?

The update should now be availible, if not I'd contact.fitbit.com
