Firmware version 17.8.301.8 - Resolves a syncing issue with Apple iOS version 10.2
Workout mode missing? Not a problem! Just follow the steps for adding it back.
Hey everyone! ![]()
We're rolling out a new update for Blaze, release notes below:
This release also resolves the following issue:
Important to note: A sync is required after a manual shutdown or a battery drain in order to show the correct time on Blaze. This is especially important for your activity tracked by Blaze because you'll want to make sure it's associated with the current date and time.

What did we get with the new update tonight? I already had the move reminders and clock faces. Also when will Fitbit give us stronger silent alarms?

@kelleyd73 wrote:Thanks for the update! Is there a comprehensive list of what 3rd Party App notifications are supported? ie: Facebook, Instagram, Twitter etc ...
Thanks!!
I'm on iphone 6. So far, every single app that sent a notification on the phone is supported on the Blaze, with the option in the app to turn it on or off. But the notification has to be delivered on the phone before the fitbit app picks it up.So for me so far 100% of apps supported including my credit union which is pretty sweet.

My blaze update keeps on failing. I have been trying since last hour but every time it says Update Failed. The Fitbit app is already updated, device OS Android 5.1.1, India. Restarted the phone, tracker, Bluetooth, Bluetooth classic and everything, but same error. What needs to be done?
TIA

Recieved my update about 3pm today.
For those of you having issues I strongly suggest plugging into your pc with the charging dongle and using the windows 10 app if you can. My update performed at lightning speed and was done before I could stay 'fitbit'.
Had no issues, just had to select a clock face twice beffore it updated properly. On a side note it looks like the clock face is a complete module that gets uploaded to the fitbit and it only stores one at a time (that's an interesting way to do it but could post problems having to upload the entire module via bluetooth instead of having them all installed in the fitbit outright and swapping with a simple config edit. Of course, this would require a lot of storage on the device itself and this is probably why the upload a single module at a time)
I'm very pleased with the universal notifications. At least it seems so, considering all the apps I was able to activate for notifications. I can't think of any apps I haven't had the options to activate notifications for. I'm enjoying the Moment clockface. It's VERY informative for thos who want to keep tabs on their heart rate at a glance, with a secondary display for steps, stairs, and everything else.
As a side note, while I don't believe this was in the patch notes, I HAD been having problems connecting music control to my Droid Max if I'd allready turned on and connected a speaker to it before pulling down the music controls on my Blaze. If I activated the music controls second to the speaker, it would flip flop between 'connecting' and 'loading music' repeatedly and never get anywhere with the connection. I would have to turn the speaker OFF, let the Blaze connect, then it would function almost fully. It would control Pandora fine, and the volume, but would not properly show the song title information. Now with the update it works perfectly without issues regardless off the connection order and shows the song info properly.
I hear a lot of people complaining about not being able to reply on the Blaze but that seems impractical due to the limited screen. Where would one put a keyboard? However, one small feature I might suggest is the ability to trigger the phone camera remotely on the Blaze. Many phones allow a 'click' from a wired headset with an answer button to trigger the camera and I think it would be a fairly simple feature to implement since you allready have the bluetooth connectivity.
Aside from this, The update is excellent brings the full universal notification connectivity I had taken as a built-in feature based on the advertising (Which was a little vauge on that point.) I admit I was dissappointed to find out it only notified on text messages and voice calls! However I was willing to accept these limitations due to the quality of the fitness features I originally bought the Blaze for. The extra bit of connectivity to my phone was an added bonus I was happy to accept, even though it was limited.
I am glad for this update and happy to be reciving all the notifications I'm interested in getting straight to my wrist! It's wonderful to have such connectivity when I had originally just wanted a fitness tracker with a couple of extra phone features. (I had considered other products like a moto 360(and sport) but had done some research and found it lacking in the fitness features I found more important then total phone control, it even offered a camera preview on the watch with remote shutter triggering, but I wanted reliable and intelligent fitness tracking instead.)
Excellent update! If futher updates are on the roadmap I look forward to seeing what comes, I just hope that the release is a bit smoother this time! (that rollout freeze was a little annoying, and I do have to agree with everyone that the 'soon' repetition was uninformative and frustrating. The slow rollout wasn't exactly fun either but I just checked the app once a day and went on with my life)

Will try this and see if it works. Thanks 🙂
Make sure you turn off your phone's bluetooth or it won't be able to connect to the tracker via the dongle, as the tracker will allready be in 'conversation' with the phone (or tablet, or whatnot). I was getting a 'cannot find tracker' error until I turned my phone's bluetooth off to cut that active connection.

I FINALLY got the update! I knew that meant that it's available to everyone. I checked, and of course it is. I have to say that a pleasant surprise is that they appear to have changed the charging screen such that the large battery that fills the screen is present the whole time. I was unable to fully charge, but I'm hoping this means that the charging indicator on the screen will actually stop filling when it's full, which it never did before.

Had high hopes but still no luck. Can it really sync through the charging dock? Does not seem to find it for me.

@AndrewFitbit You have taken alot of flack, thanks for helping. After reading all the negative posts, it seems all the comments are positive. Thanks to Fitbit for the wonderful update. Those who have waited patiently for the update (myself included) can now enjoy the pleasure of all the new features. To those whose lives depended on the update...well, this should keep you happy....

Ok guys I feel I need to rant a bit.......
So I have update my fitbit blaze to the latest firmware, got the new faces - BRILLIANT.
Got email notification now - also very useful.........
WHAT ABOUT SOME FITNESS UPDATES after all it's a fitness tracker (That's why I bought it anyway)
or am I missing the point ??????
I have posted on Fitbit about my Blaze from when I bought it that I would like to be able to personalise my workouts and make them my own such as HIIT combining x,y,z or whatever, I feel the 3 preloaded Fitstar ones are pretty **ahem** useless to be honest, come on guys.........
Please vote, might just get picked up on........
