Hey! While it is April 1st, the Blaze firmware update to version 17.8.104.1 is no joke. As usual, we're rolling out the update in waves, and we hope to have everyone updated soon.

This release includes the following:

  • General improvements
  • Minor bug fixes

Any questions, just let us know. Robot Happy

Thanks for your response! I haven't noticed any issues with functionality
and all seems well (just wait, we all know that rule!). I will just keep
walking (was going to say "sit tight," but not in this world) and wait for
the updates.

This touchscreen needs a lock function!! Blaze is cancelling workouts within minutes due to my boxing gloves brushing the screen!

It is rolling out, as stated numerous times by Fitbit. It is not available to everyone just yet.

Most companies beta test their software first. I think Fitbit uses its customers as beta testers, hence the slow firmware rollout, (finger's crossed wink wink nudge nudge hope this one works)

@MoovinGroovin Nah, I work in IT for a large corporation and this is a very common practice.  There are very good technical and logistical reasons for a controlled rollout no matter how much testing has been done.  I'm a proponent of this method as opposed to the shotgun approach.  In my opinion it's just good SOP.

Google, Microsoft, etc all do this. It has nothing to do with being a beta tester. There are a million users of the Blaze alone. If there is an issue, it would overwhelm them in trying to resolve. Better to send it to some and make sure all goes as planned. There is no real way to test a roll out that large with people having so many different kinds of phones and computers.

I started work at Oracle c.1990 and have been closely associated with rollouts from major techs ever since. I half jest, but knowing Fitbit, I'm also half serious.

Well I hope they speed it up haha. I'm having an issue with sleep and step tracking and the the email I got from customer service says the update should fix it. Thanks for the info @Nocturnx

That's it. I'm holding my breath until they release it to everyone else. If the police ask, just direct them to this forum for the reason. 😶

my Blaze will not update to 17.8.104.1.  Tried everything.  Fitbit Connect says my Blaze is up to date with version 17.8.102.1  Don't understand which is version is the correct latest version.

And, why 17.8.104.1, if it is the latest update, won't download????

Guys, it will come when it comes. It's a staggered roll out, so not everyone will get it at the same time.
