Blaze Firmware Update - 17.8.104.1 [Closed]

Update 4/12/16:

Hey all,

 

As of yesterday, the firmware update for Blaze should be available to everyone. As is common with initial updates, this version focuses on stability improvements and bug fixes. We're looking forward to delivering feature improvements with future updates so stay tuned! Smiley Wink

Hey! While it is April 1st, the Blaze firmware update to version 17.8.104.1 is no joke. As usual, we're rolling out the update in waves, and we hope to have everyone updated soon.

 

This release includes the following:

 

  • General improvements
  • Minor bug fixes

No new watch faces, vibration still isnt strong enough and no inactivity notification.  How many votes do we need to get Fitbits attention?

Is there a way to initiate the firmware update? Mine is not on the latest firmware, and doesn't remind me there is an update either.

Well looks like this is a bug fix update which is to b expected. I'm guessing the next one will include features as these would take much longer to implement and test

@SunsetRunner nope like all Firmware updates,  this one will get rolled out over a few days, you.will be notified, then tap the notification on.the app. This is manly done to keep from crashing the servers.

Any idea on how I can connect with my facebook friends? Reason why I just bought the fitbit blaze was for the social aspect of challenges with friends and posting on facebook. I feel like I just wasted $200 because I can't connect or use facebook, and there are tons of posts with others having same issue but no resolution from fitbit. My garmin worked perfect, just didn't have facebook. I saw posts to revoke facebook and reload it. I can't revoke it if it was never in my applications to begin with. All i get on my phone is can't connect need to create facebook account. Try on computer and I get facebook and fit bit can't connect, try again later. Wheres the customer service to fix this issue. I emailed fitbit and no response yet. Maybe I should just get a refund since this is worthless to me and fitbit can't seem to issue a resolution.

they can't seem to fix a simple issue and now this is worthless to me.

Takes a few days to get an email back. Maybe you can just find your friends emails or enter a few names manually.

Faces would be nice, but I am not sure they can increase vibration though firmware......maybe though?  I would thing the hardware installed that creates the vibration is what it is, no?

Hi racertempo,

 

AFAIK you can change the frequency and the rhythm of the silent alarm via software and therefore enhance the effect of silent alarms. So it should be possible to put that into a future firmware update.

I just got my Blaze 2 days ago and am noticing that the touch screen is not responsive on some of the screens until several taps (at least).  It updated when I set it up, and shows it has version #17.8.102.7 at this time.  I've gone through all of the troubleshooting steps that I've found, and version 17.8.104.1 still hasn't installed.  Nothing at all happens when I'm using my iPhone, but my computer shows my device is up-to-date.  When can I expect to be able to install the update, and should it solve the issues with the touch screen?

@Hcarlson There's an issue with the integration between Fitbit and Facebook that our team is aware of, and they're currently looking into it. I know connecting with friends is important, but please hang tight!

 

@peglegks You can wait for the update if you want, but I don't know when it will be available to you since we're rolling it out in waves. If your screen is unresponsive, you might want to restart your Blaze. If the behavior continues, I'd suggest contacting our friends at Customer SupportSmiley Happy

I too get the unresponsive issue. Well, not unresponsive but it just ignores me. Today I clicked shutdown an it lit up the box like it read me but nothing happened. Click click click. The only way to get it to respond is to go back and then into the menu again.

Took me half an hour to install the update... By the way, do you have any plan to provide Chinese supported notifications?

Well, I have the same issue as FB and the FITBIT accounts will not link up with a message to try again later.  So called customer service and after 45 min on the phone, I have a case # with no solution.  Thing is that my wife got the invite and replied.  I do not see her on my friends, but when I attempt to just send her an email invite it says she is already my friend.  So I am at a loss on this too.
