Blaze Firmware Update - 17.8.104.1 [Closed]

Hey all,

 

As of yesterday, the firmware update for Blaze should be available to everyone. As is common with initial updates, this version focuses on stability improvements and bug fixes. We're looking forward to delivering feature improvements with future updates so stay tuned! Smiley Wink

Hey! While it is April 1st, the Blaze firmware update to version 17.8.104.1 is no joke. As usual, we're rolling out the update in waves, and we hope to have everyone updated soon.

 

This release includes the following:

 

  • General improvements
  • Minor bug fixes

This release resolves the following issues:

Some customers were reporting that the backlight didn't turn off. The backlight is now working as expected.
Some customers were reporting that music control stopped working with certain Android devices. Music control is now working as expected.
Some customers reported that receiving a large number of notifications at one time caused Blaze to restart unexpectedly. The issue is resolved.
The release also includes minor bug fixes and improvements.

@hawkyou Have you tried chatting with Fitbit directly about your issue? I have had issues with my Charge HR in the past and they are really friendly and helpful. Sometimes it is beyond thier control though and you have to wait until the next update. Hope this helps

I preordered my blaze and received it very quickly after initial mailing.  Except for some initial problems with the initial software update and GPS which customer service helped me solve quickly, I have been really happy with the Blaze. I just received my new firmware update today (April 11th).  I did not receive an email from fitbit but when I was updating the dashboard on my computer I also checked to see if any software updates were available and there were.  It took about 8 minutes to download and it the download was flawless.  This is a great product with great customer support.

It seems as though the update screwed things up on mine and made me lose a step battle. I cannot get it to finsih the update. It just says loading, why so long??Smiley Mad

I just received a notification on the FitBit app to update my Blaze. But the update installed last week. In the settings on the Blaze it says I'm on 17.8.104.1. Up until today, it said the same thing on the app. Now all of a sudden the app says my Blaze is on 17.8.102.7 and wants me to update the tracker software even though its already up to date.

Hey, I figurered I would just delete the Blaze from my fitbit app, then reinstall it. That seemed to work too. Pluse I did not lose any of the data.

Not sure how long it takes to get an update.  I still have no notice for it.  I still have 17.8.102.7 I have no idea how many updates they are doing a day.  But from what I could see the update has nothing to do with fixing the problems listed here.

Does this firmware update fix the Blaze inaccurate steps?

I have not noticed inacurate steps. It usually is pretty good. But the update I have is 8.104.1, not sure what the extra digits are, jast saying that is what mine shows.

Folks, I reportet a failure when I got my Blaze 4 weeks ago in germany (I come from).

I use the metric system especially kilometers instead of miles. But when i track a run with the blaze and the second information source is `distance` then there will reportet miles instead og kilometers. The final report and the intermediate results are reported in kilometers.I opened a case at fitbit support because thats very annoying and I hoped you will fix this with the new release but nothing happend.

Uncomparable. One really a fitness tracker the other is a smartwatch.

If your having any problems after the update, please restart your tracker, as the update procedure instructed you to do. A restart of the Phone would not hurt either.

If still having problems, as stated above, through the v phone's BT screen, please unpaid tyre Blaze, and then try to sync. The app should automatically pair the Blaze.

 restarted both the Blaze and my phone this morning....i had all the missed text messages show up at once from the weekend?  and after the update, it idid not record flights of stairs?  the vibration is practically non-existent....i had to look at the clock on the wall to see if my alarm went off.

(Customer service advised me to wear the blaze on a sensitive part of my wrist...).

 

at this point, i am not going to get worked up about what works and what does not...i will just lower my expectations and shop more wisely next time.  it is upsetting to read that this item does not have a long-term life expectancy.  I used my One faithfully from Jan. 2014-until i purchased the Blaze last month.  i skipped the charges, HR, etc, waiting for something i was very excited about.

Can we please update the Blaze's Exercise functionality for stopping a workout?  The touchscreen is too sensitive while working out that I end my workout short on the watch and not realize it.  Can you make the user press a physical side button to end a workout?
