Update 5/6/16:

Hey all,

I've been keeping a close eye on this thread, and I wanted to give a quick update.

For reports of Blaze steps and/or distance being inaccurate, I think this is definitely something worth looking into. I've passed on all the feedback to our team so they can investigate. As a friendly reminder, remember that accuracy depends on many factors.

Here's a couple things being worked on:

For 'Auto' setting being too dim, you can switch to 'Normal' as a workaround in the meantime. Please note switching to 'Normal' will have a slight impact on battery life.

I'll provide updates when I can. Thanks everyone. 🙂

Update 4/27/16:

The firmware update should now be available to everyone. Update your Blaze and let me know how it goes! You can read the release notes for version 17.8.200.3 in the lead post or check them out on our help site. 🙂

Update 4/23/16:

Sorry for the wait, here's the release notes!

"The Simplified Chinese, Japanese, and Korean languages are now available on Blaze. Note that Blaze is only available for pre-order from fitbit.com in China, Japan, and Korea.

This release also resolves a couple issues:

  • Some customers were unable to resume a paused FitStar workout.
  • Some customers reported problems with the Blaze screen (display)."

You can find these release notes for this update (17.8.200.3) on our help site.

4/21/16:

Hey everybody,

Some of you may have noticed there's a new firmware update for Blaze! We just started pushing this update out yesterday, and just like any other update, we'll be rolling it out in waves. This update focuses on a few bug fixes. Release notes will be posted here soon.

Thanks!

Since the recent update, I am not receiving my text, call, or calendar notifications.  I have tried reconnecting/disconnecting/reconnection.  I have an iPhone 6S.  I didn't have many problems since this last update.

I have followed all of the instructions and it appears that my phone and Fitbit are connected.  My steps are syncing and I am able to control my music on my phone with my FitBit.  Notifications (call/text/calendar) are what is not working.  Please advise.

Sleep tracking has stopped since update! Anyone else experience this?

Customer service told me that the engineers developed an algorithm for workers that hold things in their hands while walking. Like data pad or clip board. It still counts. I've watched it.

Since this last update I have had the following issues:

I have issues with it connecting to my phone - rarely does so on the first try anymore

My sleep doesn't seem as accurate, shows I wake up like 45 mintues after I really do

My maps are not accurate at all.  Sometimes they start out okay then jump miles away and the end okay.

I've been trying for days to do my software update and haven't been able to. Thought I could do it through my computer, but apparently not. Any suggestions?????

A friend has had some success setting up a blaze with a PC by pairing with the Bluetooth Classic option. I have not tried this myself, though I might very soon.

Either try the fitbit app on your phone or contacting support if your computer won't connect right. I had the same issue when I got my blaze. I was not able to use the fitbit app on my computer and am still unable to use it, though I haven't needed to since I have been able to use the app on my phone.

Hello,
I'm glad I'm not the only one to have a problem of distance since the last update:
The carrier is not saying worries me, and that I can simply get my exercise in hand !!
I do not find this very professional, especially as I have problem with that since the last update.

Add me to the list of VERY inaccurate step count, distance with connected GPS. I have a route that I either walk or run several times a week. According to Map My Run and Polar Beats, the distance is 3.6 to 3.8 miles. They will vary a hundredth or two. My Blaze has it at 3.5 on a good day. The interesting thing is that it will show the 3.5 with or without connected GPS. I've done the walk without activating the walk or run feature and just looked a distance before I started and then the distance after I finished. Yesterday, it gave me 5338 steps for the 3.54 miles. I should be closer to the 7000 mark by that distance. Two days ago, it only gave me 4764 steps for the same distance. I can do 100 or 200 counted step distances to check counts and sometimes is spot on and others it's WAY off. I don't know if this is a result of the firmware update as I just got the Blaze about a week ago. I was switching from a Surge that was basically the same, if not worse, inaccuracies. I had learned to live with it since I knew it was off and when I reached 10,000 steps, it was more like 12,000 steps and would have burned more calories. But, after reaching my goal weight a few months back and being on a maintenance plan now, I'd like to have more accuracy. My One is very accurate. But, I like to monitor information while I workout. I tried a Garmin Vivosmart HR and it was very accurate. But, I hated the app that you had to use. I'd gladly pay for Fitbit's app if I could use a different brand tracker with it.

With the inaccuracies, it's worthless to join any of the challenges.

I'm finding that "connected GPS" issues are getting worse as time goes on.

At first, when an exercise was initiated, it connected almost instantly with full green bars on the Blaze. Over time it now takes longer to connect and there are less green bars. Now I either get one bar, a red x or it just says it cannot connect.

And like others have said, it doesn't matter if connected GPS it active or not, distance is the same. And like so many of the Blazes other features, it's not accurate.

I've had my Blaze since the end of Feb/beginning of March and struggling with all the same issues as everyone else. I'm also now getting a clicking sound in it, every time I move my wrist as though I was going to look at the time... it almost sounds like there's something loosening in the fit of the Blaze into the strap. Anyone else finding this?

When will there be a firmware update for the Blaze with the hourly movement reminder or nudge like the Alta?

Yes! I'm wondering too. I hope soon!

Before they start adding things, they need to fix the things they broke with the last firmware downdate.

The Step Counter Fix is simple !!

Just let the default or an inputed Step Counter determine distance.  It's going to be more useful than linking to a GPS. Step strides don't change slow/moderate/fast, only a running stride is different.

Why this simple fix isn't being done ASAP is beyond me.  Ideally, you would like GPS to confirm a distance and then steps to be calculated based on default or inputed Stride length.  But at this point, I measured my 10-step stride a few times and it came to 22 feet +/- 2% each time.  I'll take that accuracy.

FitBit Tech Support, please allow Stride to set distance.  It's light-years better than what we have now.

Hey

Ever since the update released two  weeks ago, the app  doesn't sync properly and many times it crashes and   the display data doesn't show  properly  , you can watch in the screenshot:

  Screenshot_2016-05-26-10-34-55_resized.pngScreenshot_2016-05-26-10-33-58_resized.png

On the 25/5/16 fitbit released an update but non of these bugs were fixed .

Nevertheless, when I try to get to the device option' the app crashes.

Information :

Fit bit blaze runs on the LG G3 android version 5.0 and on the LG G4  android version 6.0

Fitbit version 2.25 released may 24th .

Thanks

Hi Andrew

Has there been and progress with a new firmware update? I am tired of having an fitness watch that is not measuring it peramiters correctly. If you can let me know any sort of update as to be honest I am thinking of returning my blaze and getting a different tracker all together as these problems don't seem to be getting resolved

Morning Andrew

Is there an estimate for the next firmware update?

Stop issuing updates if you can't make it work. With every update I cannot connect my fitbit to my phone, PC or Mac. It asks to update but fails to update everytime. This has to be one of the worst products I ever bought. Took me 5 hours via support to make it work with 20-30 restarts of the device and the fitbit in order to update and make it work last time. Awful awful awful.
