Update 5/6/16:

Hey all,

I've been keeping a close eye on this thread, and I wanted to give a quick update.

For reports of Blaze steps and/or distance being inaccurate, I think this is definitely something worth looking into. I've passed on all the feedback to our team so they can investigate. As a friendly reminder, remember that accuracy depends on many factors.

Here's a couple things being worked on:

For 'Auto' setting being too dim, you can switch to 'Normal' as a workaround in the meantime. Please note switching to 'Normal' will have a slight impact on battery life.

I'll provide updates when I can. Thanks everyone. 🙂

Update 4/27/16:

The firmware update should now be available to everyone. Update your Blaze and let me know how it goes! You can read the release notes for version 17.8.200.3 in the lead post or check them out on our help site. 🙂

Update 4/23/16:

Sorry for the wait, here's the release notes!

"The Simplified Chinese, Japanese, and Korean languages are now available on Blaze. Note that Blaze is only available for pre-order from fitbit.com in China, Japan, and Korea.

This release also resolves a couple issues:

  • Some customers were unable to resume a paused FitStar workout.
  • Some customers reported problems with the Blaze screen (display)."

You can find these release notes for this update (17.8.200.3) on our help site.

4/21/16:

Hey everybody,

Some of you may have noticed there's a new firmware update for Blaze! We just started pushing this update out yesterday, and just like any other update, we'll be rolling it out in waves. This update focuses on a few bug fixes. Release notes will be posted here soon.

Thanks!

I want the previous firmware back - wish I hadn't upgraded.

I'm going to post this again for the new people. If you're having problems after the update, restart your tracker and/ or your phone/ computer. If that doesn't work, call fitbit support. 1 (877) 623-4997

I'm not phoning the US.

If your having cell issues then the app won't be able to talk to Fitbit and it won't sync.

Have you restarted the Blaze yet?

Is there a possibility of putting a direct link to the formware update notes directly inside the Fitbit app? Would be nice not having to search for them everytime there is an update 😉

@meresydotes Regarding your recommendation to turn off auto track for elliptical, I have a question.  Were your exercises coming up as "elliptical" or is this just something you tried because your steps were off and it worked for you on accuracy on walks?

@picasso66My exercises were coming up as elliptical. AND my day to day steps were undercounting. I didn't think they could be related, because a tracker should track, right? But then, during one of my many complaining phone calls to fitbit support, the CSR suggested I disable elliptical. I did, and my day to day steps started counting correctly. But my exercises were no longer detected at all. So I disabled all of the auto-track.

Since updating my blaze to this firmware the battery discharges in less than 24 hours - even faster if I actually workout with it. Is there any way to rever the firmware back to a build that doesn't drain the battery or will I need to request a warranty repair?

It's not possible to revert to a previous version.

Sorry, it is not possible to revert. Have you tried restarting the Blaze?

Ever since the update my "always connected" to constantly monitor is completely useless. The app can't find the tracker. The blaze only updates when it wants. Refreshing doesn't help. I have run all of the necessary pairings, etc. Before this update it worked fine. Update fail. Please fix it.

It may be coincidence but ever since this update my heart rate isn't being read. The LED lights aren't even lighting up. I've tried it with HR On and HR Auto, as well as, restarted the device three times. Still the HR led doesn't light up and it's not reading my heart rate.

Mine isn't quite that bad but I'm not getting much more than 48 hours before I have to charge it now. I upgraded Sunday and have had to charge it twice since.

My fitbit blaze has so far taken around 15 minutes to update from an iPhone 6 and the progress bar isn't even a tenth of the way across.

Any suggestions?

my blaze wont take the update on any of my devices.

On the other hand I have not experienced any issues with what it is fixing.

thanks
