Blaze HR reading incorrectly when device is not on wrist

I do not wear my Blaze to sleep & therefore take it off at night. The heart rate monitor is giving false readings during this time, going all night saying the heart rate is going up to 195 bmp at some stages. This is throwing out calories burned for the day. On some says my fitbit says ai burnt 5000 calories, which is clearly not the case as I have been asleep! Anyone else have this issue? How do I fix it? Ive reset my fitbit several times & thats done nothing.

Is the heartrate set for auto, or do the green lights flash all night.

Green lights flash all night. They always have since I got the fitbit 12 months ago.  The heart rate going balistic all night has only started in the last week.
