Blaze Music Control Flakeyness

I Have a Sony Z5 phone and my primary music player is an app called PowerAmp that has quite good support and has been around for a while, it worked fine with my pebble watch for remote control via AVRCP and bluetooth headphones and my cars bluetooth seem to control it fine for play/pause/skip/vol+/vol- but the Blaze seems to have a real problem with this.

When I reboot the phone, delete Blaze and pair it to Blaze (Classic) the remote control works for a while and displays the current track on the screen, but after a while of not using it, usually a few hours or overnight, the device "Blaze" seems to creep back onto my paired devices list and music control is stuck saying "loading music.../no music/connecting..." and the only way to get it to work is to delete "Blaze" and reboot the phone.

This seems to be a common topic, I hate to start new threads on common topics but the others seem to be solved with one reboot forever, this seems to requite me to reboot constantly which is not ideal, watch is firmware 17.8.301.8 and seems fine otherwise, its 3 months old.

It's great to see you around @DevoiD, thanks for troubleshooting this issue by yourself. Keep in mind that in order for have all the features that the Blaze have, your phone needs to be compatible and in this case Sony Z5 is not. You can take a look at this post and follow the instructions provide there to fix the music control inconvenience you have but I don't guarantee it will work 100%. I also recommend checking our list of compatible mobile devices

Hmmm... disappointing, though thanks for the update, I didn't even realize there would be a compatibility issue with the handset itself, I just figured it supported android.

I notice the Sony z1 and z3 are supported, but not the z5, is this likely to change in the future as even the z5 is an old model at this point? Maybe that is a discussion for another thread.

Just of note, with my blaze paired in (classic) mode to the z5, my car (Holden Commodore 2010 (VE-2) will no longer connect the music profile to the phone to stream music, but with the blaze unpaired it connects straight away and streams music again.

I'm not sure if my life is compatible with fitbit 😞

I had already found that other post and attempted the process, it appears to temporarily fix the problem, but it would require me to reboot my phone and repair the bluetooth every time I want to use the music controls for an hour or so... not ideal, hah.

Thanks for the information @DevoiD. As mentioned, since your phone is not compatible it might be a little hard to make the music control feature work. It's great to hear that you found some steps to follow, please follow them to have this feature available.

I'm jumping from a different angle, and thought @DevoiD, you say it works fine after a reboot. The phone hooks to your car and other devices fine. Could it be that once the phone connects to another device with keyboard control, the Blaze has problems reconnecting? This has been reported in the past.

My thought next to time is to go into your phones Bluetooth settings and Chek the settings for the Blaze and any other devices that might be connected. From these Bluetooth settings on my android I'm able to individually  enable and disable their music control functions.

Honestly I'm pretty done with Fitbit over this. I'm selling it on ebay and I'll probably get something more like Android wear or even a warranty less pebble 2 would be better. I'm done wasting time just to get music controls working, I want something that just works.
