Music Control gets a facelift with Blaze! Learn more about your power to control music below. For a more detailed look at Music Control on your Blaze, please see this help article.

Music Control:

With Blaze, you can control your music with the touch of a button! To access Music Control, simply swipe downward on your home screen. Improvements to this feature include a Bluetooth Low Energy (BTLE) connection for iOS instead of BT Classic. We've also added the ability to rewind and increase/decrease the volume of the song, in addition to fast forwarding and play/pause.

Notes

  • Android and Windows phones will still use BT Classic for using Music Control.
  • While in exercise mode, press/hold Blaze's top-right button for 2 seconds to bring Music Control up.
  • You'll use both buttons on the right to control volume on Blaze. See image to the right.
  • As with most other Bluetooth devices, if you connect another Bluetooth device and disconnect your Blaze, you will have to connect it again the next time you want to use it to control music.

No matter what you're rocking out to, we're sure you'll love using Music Control on Blaze!

Since the IOS has been updated on my iPhone the Blaze no longer connects to my music. Has anyone else experienced this? I now have to start the music independently and Blaze just doesn't recognise it.

This doesn't work. I had the same issue on my Surge, as did my husband, and I ended up finding a solution that fixed it. I can't remember what it was. But you wait for the code to appear, it never does, then it gives the cannot pair because of incorrect pin)passcode error. I've followed the instructions 10 times to a tee.

Dear Fitbit,

I bought my Blaze today and tested out the music control, I'm able to adjust the volume and the song names are displaying on the screen but for some reason the rest of the music controls aren't working. Ive tried rebooting my phone&tracker several times and resyncing to blaze(classic) without any success unfortunately.

I hope you can help me with this issue.

Cheers,

is there a technical limitation on Android that leaves us stuck with Bluetooth, while iOS gets Bluetooth LE, or do you guys just not care?
Best Answer

@hiimtye I'm not sure what your saying, all Fitbit trackers, excluding the discontinued Ultra, use Bluetooth Low Energy sync it's data. The Bluetooth Classic is only used for music control. So yes all android phones communicate with the Fitbit tracker through BTLE.

thumbs up for replying without reading the original post @Rich_Laue, BLE is used for music control on iOS, as the article explains. reading comprehension ftw.

Well thumbs up to you for making a post without any reference.. It's probably because android is setup to have an external input device connected through Standard bluetooth. Or that the android developers where unable to make it happen

I referenced the post, ergo not 'without any reference' and I asked a question to determine why it wasn't done on Android. if you want to win the internet, troll another forum, I'm trying to get information from the people who actually make the firmware regarding limitations on Android, or whether they plan to impliment it later.

Then you will need to ask a developer this question, these forums are where Fitbit users are helping Fitbit users. I falsely assumed that the question would be addressed to those that participate in these forums. I was notting that I'm unable to find any input device that controls an android as a keyboard through BTLE.. I do see that android watch does but then it also does more then act like a keyboard.

I got my blaze a couple of days ago and haven't been managed to control music though it yet.

I have a LG G2, and I use Spotify.

I've looked through all the help pages and tried everything, but it just says 'connecting', and then 'no music'. I can control the volume but nothing else.

I've tried using my ipad and that works straight away.

And yes I've made sure both the 'blaze' and 'blaze classic' was paired properly, watch is on 'pair' mode; tried unpairing then pair again, restarting my phone, rebooting fitbit etc...nothing works. Had a good look through all the settings on spotify and everything seems fine.

Has anyone had the same problem and can help me please?

Thanks
