Blaze Not Holding a Charge FIX!

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I'm gonna let you in on why this is not holding a charge.  Okay lets get back to what happened to me.  So I take the last update and I'm all happy cause part of that Update was new watch faces.  Well naturally I'm gonna take one of the new clocks.  So sick of seeing the others.04A-CU4-Clock-Faces.jpg

So I pick the one on the right pictured above.  The next thing I know 10 hours later my battery is dead and the thing shut off.  Hmmmm well I must have forgot to charge it.  Okay so I charge it all the way up.  Wear it one day and the next day and bam it's off again..  Hmmmm what the heck?  So I charge it up again and again I get 1 day out of it.

What is going on here?  So I call customer service.  They can tell that you have 100% Battery and then 0 the next day.  Okay so I get them to send me a new Blaze.  It comes in the mail.  I set it up and figure my battery woes are over.  Again I pick a new watch face and I pick the left face pictured here. and the next day watch is dead.  Again I call Customer Service.  They tell me yep the new one is dying too.  Well thanks Captain Obvious!  Yeah I know it.  It's like I get 18 hours off a watch that use to last 5 days.

So again they tell me we will send you a new Blaze.  Now I bought the thing cause my Real name is BLAZE.  What other one was I gonna buy?  Well I did one thing to fix the problem and I will pass it on to you now.  GO BACK TO THE OLD WATCH FACES!  Those new one drain the watch to nothing for some reason.  I went back to the old faces fitbit-blaze-clock-faces-res.jpg
and I use the one that came with mine on the left.  Well what do you know I get 5 days again on the Blaze.  Now I don't know what is going on with the Alta and the others.  I assume the same issues.  But I am 100% sure of this issue on the Blaze and this is the fix.  Something with the new faces cause it to drain the battery.  Weather it's sampling rates or what I have no idea.  But I knew not 3 of these things had the same issue.

Okay where is my prize?  LOL!  I was a Engineer for 30 years.  my life was solving problems with Electronic Equipment.  So I had to fix this problem.  Fix the current drain on those watch faces and for everyone else until they update the Blaze with a fix.  Use the old Watch faces.

Thank you! I'm having the same issue. I chose the same watch face you did and will try the same fix tonight. I'm pretty bummed though. I really liked that face. It's always the little things...

Thank you. It is different that is for sure.  And glad I could help.  It was driving me nuts and having a tracker onlyh last 24 hours or less is nuts.  And the only thing I can think of is the sampling rate is to high and killing the battery

Also if you can let me know if this helps you as well.  Mine it working like it should now.  But if this fixes the problem I want Fit bit to see that this is the issue and so they can get with a fix.  As I keep saying I think it's a high sampling rate that is causing this.

Update - So, sadly, this was not the issue with mine - or maybe it was and there is another issue. In any case, I changed the battery face back to an old one, charged it over night and my tracker is dead again today (by noon, less than 24 hours). I contacted customer support and they are going to issue another tracker. I am hoping this will help. Have a wonderful afternoon.

Wow that is weird.  Now I did a test on mine and it does not last as long as the original 5 days but I got 3 days from it.  The update has still caused issues.

I tried all the suggestions and my Blaze still won't hold charge.

As a matter of fact, it takes almost all night to get ALMOST a full charge, and then it shuts down after 1 hour of charge. What's really going on?????

My blaze was doing great but then wouldn't hold a charge for more than 24 hours. I called Fitbit and I'm out of my year warranty so my only option is to buy a new watch. I have not yet had a Fitbit watch last more than 2 years for me (I went through 2 Charge HRs and now 1 blaze). I'm trying the watch face idea and hope it works. I'd love to get 3 days out of the watch and keep using it. I feel VERY reluctant to buy another Fitbit since they don't seem to last very long. Frustrating. I have a friend that has an Apple watch that has lasted 3+ years. It's a bummer because I do love my Fitbit - I just can't justify buying a new one every 1.5 years. 😞

My experience with the same problem on my blaze was very poor. Fitbit customer service is we’re crap.

My blaze  is 25 months old

and their attitude was to give me a little discount off a new device as their warranty is only 24 months

im going to contact The consumer trading standards in the uk as I don’t believe it is fit for purpose.

I was offered a 25% discount too but mine is only 23 months -not even actually- and they said the warranty is 12 months.

I have always kept the original face on mine but I have to charge morning and evening. It’s definitely getting worse ... what else can I do ?

I'm having the same issue regardless of the clock face I select.  I put mine on this morning fully charged and it was drained in less than six hours!!  Totally not worth the price.  I feel bad because my kids bought me this one as a present.
