Blaze, Not Syncing

After waiting for 2 weeks I got my replacement FITBIT blaze. My previous FITBIT blaze had stopped working. I could not turn it on or charge it. FITBIT sent me a replacement within 2 weeks of lodging my complaint.

Unfortunately the new tracker just does not sync with my iphone 6s. My ios is updated. I tried restarting my blaze by holding the left and bottom right buttom. I restarted my phone. Killed the app and tried again but still nothing.

I tried moving to 3G/4G from wifi but still nothing. Tried switching off and on the bluetooth. Still nothing.

I also deleted my old fitbit bluetooth entry from my iphone, in case that was a problem.

Next I removed my old fitbit blaze account and started fresh and tried all the above things, still nothing.

Next i tried in my mom Iphone 6 and my sisters iphone 6. My sisters iphone 6 has an old ios. It did not work in either one of those phones. I cant try it on my laptop because I use ubuntu.

Getting my hands on an Android will be tough. I know I can call up customer care but I am sure they cant help me out. Ill have to again go through the tedious process of proof of destruction and ask FITBIT to send another replacement.

This is getting on my nerves. I have almost lost faith in FITBIT. My next activity tracker wont be a FITBIT

Called up customer care and they could not help me out. This was expected but still disappointing.

NOw they want me to send my replacement fitbit blaze to the nearest fitbit center and then after investigation they will send me another replacement.

It took 2 + weeks to get the replacement and now it might take more 3 weeks or so to get another one. Moreover there is no guarantee that the new replacement might work.

FITBIT has refused to take up resposibility/accountability for the lost weeks. I am done with this company. May ask for a refund. I have completely lost faith in them

It's great to see you around @Jiraya. Thanks for troubleshooting this inconvenience by yourself. I recommend restarting your tracker a couple of times more and after this process follow the setup procedure from a computer. Once you set it up from a computer it should with your phone without an inconvenience. Now if you really want that refund, please contact our support team to see the options you have.

I hope this helps, let me know the outcome. Woman Happy

thanks for your reply. Unfortunately i use UBUNTU for my laptop.FITBIT does
not support any UBUNTU or any linux DISTRO I can use my friends laptop but
that would be too inconvient. Furhter more I would require a FITBIT
bluetooth dongle for it on windows. I am not spending a penny more on any
FITBIT products.

Tried restarting it many a times, simply does not recognize the bluetooth
on my iphone. I tried paring my friend's fitbit blaze with my iphone and it
worked like a charm.

I have read online that its a common issue. I really wonder how FITBIT can
send a faulty piece as a replacement. I mean are most of their devices
faulty out of the box? Furthermore they are not willing to extend their
warranty on the replacement unit. I guess FITBIT does not trust its own
products.

Maybe @Jiraya Fitbit doesn't support Ubuntu, but Ubuntu through the Galileo project supports Fitbit. This will however need a Fitbit BT dongle, and the tracker needs to be already setup. See my sig, I've been syncing through Linux Mint for 5 years now.

Actually 6 months ago the linux community did figure out how to set up a tracker through Linux but I can't find the link now.

My Fitbit syncs but I don't receive notifications for in-coming calls or texts on my Blaze anymore.  I've done all of the steps noted in support texts found online.  I've even deleted the app entirely and reinstalled it onto my iPhone.  At first I thougtht it was the upgrade to the latest iOS 10.1.1 but my wife has the same iOS and it syncs fine with her Alta.  I'll try your suggestion and holler if I encounter any issues.

Okay.  I have a Blaze and I can't find the dongle (was there one, anyway?)  So I can't make use of the Mac installation solution proposed.  Can someone please advise how to get these two notifications up and going again?  Even my third-party apps are syncing properly.

EDIT:  I figured it out.  I had all the notifications enabled EXCEPT "Show in Notification Center".  Now it works.

Good to know that ubuntu supports FITBIT thorugh this project. But as you mentioned its of no use without the BT dongle. 😞
