Blaze Product Review

I was excited to get the Blaze.  My husband has Apple Watch and after comparing the two, I thought since I have been wearing fitbit devices for a while I would stick with what I know.  I have to say, I am  a little disappointed.  It's just a prettier Surge without its own GPS access.  I like the run notification feature for distance.  Why can't it have the same feature for hiking and walking?  I have other connected apps, but they don't appear on the device, only on the mobile or Mac device.  For instance, I linked IHydrate.  I would love to see how much water I have remaining on my device not have to go to my phobne.  I would gladly give up other notifications for that.

I use the AW and I am considering the Blaze. I have more need and preference for a fitness based tracker over a do it all like the AW. However, after reading all of these reviews on the Blaze, I'm second guessing if I can give up what the AW can do aside from fitness tracking. I'm slowly coming to conclusion that there is currently nothing on the market that can check all the boxes for fitness, customization, and notifications. Right now it's a balance of compromises and identifying what's important to the user.

I would have to agree, I like some features of the blaze but for the same amount of money the garmin does it all plus more. I don't like that the bands are so cheap & if you want a nicer one pay another $100. My battery life is maybe 4 full days certainly not 5. I don't quite understand the other features under work out? They all seem to do the same thing just tracking them but doesn't seem to change calories burned in a session of weights or cardio? I have some research to do on using the features I suppose before I decide if I'll return it.

While the Blaze is not trying to be a super smart watch, it is an exercise tracker with some smartwatch features, the AW is a smart watch with some activity tracking fearures. Fitbit never designed the Blaze to compete with the AW, the 2 while  haveing some overlapping functions are going after different markets.
