Blaze Text Notifications

My Fitbit Blaze (so stoked to finally have it!!!) notifications are on and the text message option is set to "message+" which is the app I use... the TXT notification comes through to the device but only by identifying the name of the sender and "1 new message"... I've pressed every and all the buttons and I'm unable to open the message fully and read the actual text, I've even tried test runs sending texts to myself and still no luck... HELP!

The ball is firmly in Verizon's court with this one. The Blaze works with the stock Android message app so it's clearly Message+ (or whatever it's called) that is doing something out of the ordinary. I wouldn't personally expect Fitbit to do anything to sort this one out I'm afraid.

I have AT&T and use native messaging. It's not just a Verizon and/or
messaging + issue.

I am a Verizon customer.  I changed from Message + to Message and the body of the messages now appear.

 Have you enabled pop up notifacarions on yhe android phone? Please take a look at this document.

My notitifications where not working until i set yhe messaging app to push the popups to the phone.

When I first changed the messenger, I forgot to change it in the fitbit app. Once I had the notification as messenger in the app, and started using messenger on my phone, the text messages appeared. My phone is an LG.

I tried that with just the messenger app but it still didn't work. I
finally gave in and downloaded Handsent Next and set it in the fitbit app.
I can read the messages now but really prefer the messeage+ app. I hope
someone figures out the issue.

I get the notifications, the body of the text message itself doesn't show.
Just says 1 new message, 2 new message, etc. It's apparently a known
issues and they say they are "working" on it.

I was able to get the entire message even with 3 sent at once by using
Google messenger. It didn't work at all the first time I tried it. Then I
reset my watch (restart) and I restarted my phone.
Now I get messages fine.
I have Verizon and a Samsung s4 phone

What @Racheal1994 sees for more tgan one unread message is what the android community saus that you should see in the home screen pop ips. With only one unopened message the body is readable. This is what my experiance has been. 

So why does @Kidder see more?

Using the message app that came with my phone, I could only see 1 message
body but if more than 1 message came through, it was just a box showing "2
new messages".
Once I changed to google messenger and did the restart it was all good. I
see all messages now.
I know some don't want to use Google messenger but this worked for me.

I just tried it using Google Messenger and it did work. Don't particularly
like the app, so not sure I'll use it. Definitely an Android issue that
needs to get fixed!

Well I ended up returning my Blaze, as after using for a few weeks and with the issues with all the notifications I decided that it wasn't worth the $200 asking price. I might revisit it in the future if they actually fix the notification issues and maybe it's on sale, but at this time I don't think it's worth the asking price, and still has issues that need to be ironed out. Good luck to all, keep your fingers crossed that things get fixed with the Blaze.

its the privacy setting of your text app, i use textra and had it set to only show the sender not the message, i changed it to show both in textra and it works fine. check your texting app for any privacy settings

this does not help her problem.. shes getting it, it just says the sender and not the body of the text message, its a privacy setting in the text app (at least for textra)

Just got the Blaze yesterday, also having the same problem with texts Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge, was this problem not resolved?  I see no message only notification that I got one. I see where others changed to another message app?
