Blaze Wildly Off on Calories

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

All of a sudden, about three days ago, my Blaze started saying that I was burning roughly 8,000 calories a day without doing any real exercise. While I would love for that to be the case, it isn't correct and I don't see anywhere to edit how it is calculating calories. The Blaze is about 2 weeks old and had been properly functioning prior to that.

Any idea on what may be causing the issue or how I can remove the erronous data from my logs?

Hey kehlili- I've been having issues since updating my ios app for some reason. Shouldn't be related but did you update your app recently before the issues started?

There was an update when I activated the watch - but to my knowledge there
hasn't been an update since activation. The only difference that I can
think of is I went a few nights without sleeping with it on as I found it
be a bit uncomfortable - but I would hope that wouldn't cause it to
suddenly start adding 6,000 calories. The only other thing I can think of
is perhaps the heart rate monitor isn't working so it's logging me as doing
a lot of exercise but it isn't logging any periods of actual exercise.

Hey kehlili, I meant  an update to your software (i.e update recently to the newer version of the fitbit app in the app store)  not the firmware / update to blaze itself.

I ask, because I noticed mine doing a couple strange things with my HR after I did an app update.

I've seen a few posts noting the calorie count being a bit high and the soloution floated has been to "try restarting your tracker a couple of times by pressing and holding the left button and the lower right button together for about 10-15 seconds and then try your tracker and keep an eye on it to see if there is any improvement."

I don't know if this will help you,  or if you've tried this but you can give it a shot, and hopefully your calorie count stabilises.

Hello @Brad. and @kehlili! It's great to have you here!  @kehlili are you still seeing a high calorie burn? If you are I would like to ask some questions to better understand your issue, are you seeing the caloric burn on your dashboard or on the tracker's display? Are you manually adding any activity? Also if possible I would appreciate a screenshot of your calorie burn so I can further investigate. @Brad. are you still having issues with your calories on the app?

Looking forward to your comments! Woman Very Happy
