Hi everybody! I don't usually uses blaze while I work. I put it on the table. After about four hours, the blaze turned to 60% batteries from 100%. Any power-down mode can I use in the blaze?

Search my past posts.

You can solder in a new battery

Find someone to do it for you

Get a different brand

Or pony up to fb more $ and hope for some reason they don't do it to you again later.

This is very common. One person said you could either solder in a new battery or get someone else to do it. I didn’t like mine enough to go through that. I switched to a fruit watch. Others have switched to Garmin products. Investigate your choices, weigh all the costs and features then make your decision. I believe the fruit watch requires one of their phones so if you don’t have one that could be an additional cost. I wish you luck and I understand your frustration with a company who puts out a product with a short life span.

I think that battery is draining fast, because you dont have nice high voltage resistors.

Just an update for anyone thinking about replacing the battery - I did this and it's still draining just as fast.

My battery life just took a dive one day, I was getting 3-5 days charge out of it then suddenly it would only last around 6-8 hours (notifications, bluetooth etc. off). So I was a bit skeptical it was a battery issue given it was quite sudden as opposed to progressive.

I have a suspicion that this is some kind of firmware issue or something. I wish Fitbit would investigate it 😞 They offered me money off a new watch but I don't want a new one, I like my Blaze and if the problem is just battery life then why can't I just change the battery and continue using it?

Thanks will look at the Garmin as so fed up with this battery issue 👍

I have an ionic with about a year and it's very good in all aspects
including battery life nothing like other fitbit models I have had.

I've moved on from FitBit. Went with fruit watch. Whole family has them and it's been great. I loved my Blaze while I had it  but it just is not worth the headache at this point.

Best of luck to you.

Just curious, how often do you have to charge your “fruit” watch?

Every night. I put it in a holder by the bed and into nightstand mode, which I love. If I want to use the sleep tracker I put it in a charger for about a half hour before I go to bed. Never had an issue with the battery or charging and it does so much more than just fitness. Very happy with it.

By the time my Blaze was dying, I was charging it multiple times during the day. And the hassle of replacing the battery just wasn't worth the functionality.

I was just curious, since a lot of people here complain about having to charge their fitbit’s every day – and I know Apple watches must be charged everyday too

Depending on how you use it and what watch you have there is some truth to that. I have a 3 and I work out 5 days a week for 1:45 to 2 hrs per day and need to charge it every day and one half. It takes about 45-55 minutes. Wife has a 5 and works out everyday and needs to charge every day for about the same time. Difference is these work for years and the fitbit complaints are about batteries that don’t charge or last only an hour or so.

Mine is a 3 and I workout 5 days a week, and battery lasts about 1-1/2 days. Wife has a 5 and works out daily and hers is on all the time so she needs to charge daily. Charge takes about 45 to 50 minutes. But it’s consistent. Mine is going on over 2 years and never a problem.

Thank you. We have done the same, my son, daughter in law and grandchildren have done the same. We all love them. Steps are actually pretty accurate to a pedometer. Have you tried the instant talk feature? You can talk to another person with the watch, no phone.

@Bobbylillo you can use the watch to make calls without a phone? does this work on WiFi and does it provide you a unique phone number or show it as your existing? this sounds like a really neat feature!

@peac0ck YIKES! ‌‌

Can you share which Blaze replacement battery you purchased that's only giving you 8 hours of battery life so we don't purchase the same replacement? I bought my replacement battery, a Synergy Digital brand, 120mAh through Amazon and eager to replace it soon. I have a perfectly working Blaze so my interest in replacement will allow me to compare it to an original that still gets over a week. Here's a picture of my Blaze battery:

What do you base your suspicion about a malicious engineer targeting your tracker with intentional firmware? How, exactly, would this work? Is your theory based on an increase in the frequency of syncing or something? I mean, as this sounds paranoid delusional and interested in giving you the benefit of the doubt would like to learn your theories and thought processes behind this rather peculiar speculation. Please walk us through? Thanks!

That's awesome Fitbit provided you a generous discount on a replacement tracker.

Which Fitbit did you end up purchasing?

The feature he's talking about is a WalkieTalkie feature not cell call functionality. So you can use it with models all the way back to series 1. You can reach out to friends or family who have a fruit watch and have accepted your invite to join. Once they're on the contact list for Walkie Talkie you can initiate a call. You have to have connectivity through Bluetooth with your phone, WiFi, or cell.

If you get a fruit watch with cellular you can actually make cell calls. I simply added it to my cell plan and it shares the same number as my phone.

I know this is old, but I am now having problems with mine. So you are telling us that we just shouldn't use any of the functions of our Fitbit so that our battery stays charged? What's the point? I have had mine for about a year and use all of those functions with no problem until about the last month. Sometimes it will die but when I put it on the charger it shows it still has a charge. After it shows fully charged it lasts about 3 hours.
