Outstanding!! You got my support. I understand Fitbit has some good
features, but frustration out trumps features. I'm looking into Garmin.
Not completely sure I want to spend a few hundred dollars on another
product like this, but I am giving it some serious thought.

Hey guys, I hope you are doing fine.

I am sorry to hear about the battery issues you all are experiencing and thanks for troubleshooting this by yourselves.

I was able to see here that some of you have contacted our support team and received a discount for a next purchase. If you are interested in using that discount, in this page, you will be able to compare all of our devices, maybe there is one that meet your needs. Also check our warranty policy.

For the ones that keep having issues, in this post are some tips you can follow.

AlejandraFitbit,  the Fitbit team doesn't seem to understand, or chooses not to understand, that you can offer all the "tech" advice/support you want, but none of it is fixing the problem.  How is it that so many Blaze owners have experienced the SAME problem in the last two months?  Fitbit is primarily concerned with profit margins and not providing stellar customer service.  How is it that each of us drops, on average, $160 for the device and it tanks just after the warranty ends?  That's a manufacturing flaw that is easily fixed.  As for the 25% discount for a new device?  Thanks, but no thanks.  This is my second Fitbit device and the second device fail.  Plenty of manufacturers out there competing for our cash and if you read the boards closely, your employer is losing business at an alarming rate.  Best of luck to you and your employer as you try, in vain, to "fix" the problem, which it looks like, includes "silencing" the masses.

Thank you for this, I’ve already given up on my Blaze, I turned off what I could and it was still needing charging every 4-5 hours - clearly there is a fault with the battery itself. Re: your suggestions though, by following them all we lose a lot of the functionality that we all bought the Blaze for - I feel if you have to turn off sync, heart rate, notifications, reminders to move, brightness, quick view, and silent alarms - what’s left? There’s no point is there? Fitbit should accept that there is a fault with the battery and rectify it. I’m very disappointed that they have not done this.

It’s not so much the Blaze dies in less than a couple years, nothing lasts forever. It’s more about Fitbit being disingenuous with their customers. Just tell us the device probably won’t make 2 years and we’ll all get a 25% discount when it dies. We are all big girls and boys who can do the math and make informed decisions. Fitbit has built a loyal customer base, why not be upfront with us. If the devices are that good, we may be able to get over a two year useful life.

Most of you might have seen this a few weeks back, but I'm really not surprised by it.  I'm hoping this new policy will come to the North American users as well since I'm sure we aren't the only ones experiencing these issues.

Fitibit Forced to Change Warranty in Australia

Best Answer

Hi!

I’m having the same problem. I bought my Fitbit Blaze in California (I’m living in Brazil) 3 month ago but its battery is lasting only 3 or 4 hours, even with all notifications turned off and after all night recharging. Could you help me on this please?

It’s not the first time, it’s happening since last week.

Hi all,

I’m having the same problem. In the past a day or so my blaze was charged then the battery drained exponentially.  "IF" I decide to replace it with another Fitbit product, that will be my second replacement due to battery issues and at only 25% off that's I'm not sure if it's worth. My job has an incentive program for using fitness trackers and meeting certain goals that I used my Fitbit for but I'm starting not to trust the Fitbit brand. Can anybody recommend another brand?

Best Answer
That’s what happened to mine . I read one post that said a guy left it alone for a week and let it completely die and it fixed itself...
mine did not...
good luck . Fitbit should repair or replace these . I believe that the expectation is that you can replace the battery if it dies...

Exactly what I did, replace the battery - it worked ok for 36 hours, then totally died. Clearly there’s some fundamental fault impacting the battery.

Hey everyone, thanks for your participation in the Forums.

I appreciate your question about why we offered a discount instead of a replacement. Our limited warranty provides replacements for devices deemed to have a manufacturer's defect within 365 days of purchase. Because your devices didn't meet these warranty conditions, we offered a courtesy discount of 25% good towards the purchase of another Fitbit.

We strive for excellent customer service and in the past often replaced devices that were not covered under warranty. Though customer satisfaction remains our number one goal, the demands of running a global business require that we now enforce our warranty consistently. For more information about the warranty, click here.

I suppose the problem we have is paying $250 for a product that last just a little over a year.  Might as well just charge us a $20/mo fee, with a free replacement every year.  The battery life, and the features of the Blaze were the big selling point when I bought it.  I was tired of charging the Samsung Fit every day, sometimes twice a day.

If the watch lasted 3 years, I probably wouldn't worry so much.  However, what is being described, not just here, but all over the internet, is a device that just suddenly went bad for no apparent reason.  Potential causes are Software update or Hardware failure.  If it's this widespread, it would almost seem as if there's a known issue, but nothing is being done about it.  Not to unlike the software update on Apple & other devices that intentionally drain the batteries in order to drive people to get a new phone.

I bought mine with a credit card, which extends the warranty an extra year.  So I was surprised that almost exactly 2 years after I purchased my fitbit, it started to act up.

So I suppose what I have to ask myself is... can I trust the fitbit product?  Or do I search for a comparable product?  25% off a replacement wasn't offered to me.  I was informed people were looking into it a few weeks ago.  So I guess I need to just start shopping.

Alejandra - Your insinuation for many of the complaints including mine are that it is a manufacturers defect. I can say with 99.999% certainty that the issues experienced with my battery were due to a software/firmware updated released by Fitbit, not the manufacturer.

The more I'm researching about Fitbit's business practices, the more I'm hesitant to purchase any of their products moving forward.  I think the leaders at FitiBit need to address obvious internal issues regardless if they are around engineering, supply chain, or go-to market strategy.  The apparent prioritization around profit over customer satisfaction and providing a truly great customer service experience is becoming obvious.

Re: research I'm referring to above for anyone interested, please search for "Jawbone, Fitbit, Indictment," and " Australia FitBit Warranty Extension"

Hi Alejandra!

Thank you for reaching out to us on the baterry draining issue! I have already seen this article and double checked that a majority of those are off. The only draining options I have enabled is the always on heart rate because I have been getting spotty reads throught the day (causing the sleep data to either be simplified or none existant) The green lights also started blinking differently which I equated to causing the spotty reads. I dont see a use in contacting support because I bought this blaze off ebay almost 2 years ago. The most they could say is sorry heres some new options you can buy. I have decided to buy a new blaze online since most stores have sadly discontinued them. If there's anything else the people of fitbit figure out I would love to know in order to fix the issue.

Hello, yes I tried that and it is still low battery ready to turn itself off again. OMG

Telling us to look at the warranty policy is bs. The issue needs to be sold Ed by Fitbit about the battery. If the answer is turn off all the features that we bought the Blaze for, then it's ridiculous. Obviously it's the company's job to fix the problem!!!

Best Answer
Its possible that the company did fix the problem and revamped it and now
calls it Versa. Still manipulating us into buying more stuff from them.

I have tried all the suggested fixes for the Blaze watch and like others on this forum have a worthless watch that is 18mths old that does not retain any battery charge. An ACCC post has been brought to my attention and I have contacted FITBIT in the hope this issue can be resolved as a warranty fault.!
