Blaze battery draining

Hey guys!

My blaze started to drain battery real quick since Sunday. Before that it held charge for 3-5 days, now it drains within 20 hours, and I've charged it 4 times since Sunday :(((

Any idea? was there a software update or anything?

Cheers

**update**

Since its happening to too many of us, please add the following:

- When did this start occuring to you? (I had a look at heart rate, to see when it was on charger)

- What phone OS Version do you use? (Like Android 7.1.1.)

- When did you buy it?

- Blaze firmware version (Like 17.8.402.1)

I am in the exact same boat and am very frustrated.

Fitbit support, please help!

I have the same problem.

I paid almost $200. for the blaze about 18 months ago. I called support for help and was told it is a battery issue and I could buy a new watch and they would give me a 25% discount. I consider this watch a piece of junk and their offer of 25% is outrageous  if you are considering buying one please think twice as buying a $200 watch every 18 is unthinkable.

by the way the 1st time I contacted support they told me I needed an update, which I did it was NO help.

25% discount!? That's horrendous. I had heard Fitbit had great customer support so I felt comfortable paying so much for the Blaze.

I thought so too! I told them I wouldn't be buying from fitbit anymore. I
will choose some other brand. But I will be doing more research this time.
Hope you have better luck with this issue than I did.

ok, so if this happened to 3 of us, it could be linked, and i see it impossible that battery dies at exact time for 3 users..

Can you please check when did this occur to you? Like I had a look at heart rate, and when its missing for hours, it was on charger (i wear it all the time, except shower).

Also devices and such. Like I use Android 7.1.1.

Also mine is exactly 2 years old I think.. Bouth it in april 2016.

Since I did the update on my Blaze this last weekend my battery will not last 3-4 hours.  Just yesterday I had to charge it 4 times.  Frustrating 👎🏼

Happened to me too.  I gave up on the Blaze.  I think they are phasing it out to introduce the Versa at the end of the month. (same price point, why have 2 of the same thing.)  I dunno. I feel really cheated since I only bought my Blaze  20 months ago.  Seems like a waste.

l have the same problem. It is particularly frustrating when I go camping, battery drains before I can charge it, then I cannot sync it because there is no service out there... so I don't even have the time for the next three days. I am definitely looking for another option. Any suggestions?

Wirecutter.com chose the Garmin VivoFit as a FitBit alternative.  I almost got it, but ultimately chose the Charge because of the social aspect that I have established. Plus it was $20 cheaper.  Charge is good and does pretty much everything I liked on the Blaze.

The exact same thing is happening to me. I've had the Blaze a little over a year now. Not cool to make it last only a year then insult our intelligence with a paltry 25% discount.  Friends of mine have fit bit and we are definitely changing brands to keep our challenges going . I had a Vivo fit and absolutely loved it with no battery issues .

I am having the same issue since the update. My batter only lasts for a few hours. Before this my blaze worked perfectly. Any solution?

I have the same issue it just started. My kids bought me the Blaze for Father’s Day. $200 not well spent it. You would think the company would stand behind their products.

This happened to me, too, except my device is 15 months old. Once I reset it to try to fix the battery drain, it stopped reading my heart rate. They made me the same offer of 25% off a new unit. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. A $200 device needs to past more than a year. It's now my goal to make sure that no one buys a FitBit ever again.

it shouldn't be a firmware update issue.. i'm rocking 17.8.402.1, and according to fitbit that was released on 11/2/2017

Fitbit support wrote the following:

We're sorry to hear your battery is draining faster than expected. We find that in some cases customers charge the device incorrectly; if you want to double check our charging instructions, you can do so at https://help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/1799

Battery use is affected by various factors and settings. We provide tips for preventing battery drain at https://help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/2004.

If the charging instructions and battery preservation tips don't help -- meaning you're still seeing a rapid and unexplained battery drain -- please do the following test so that we can investigate further.

Please charge your tracker for at least 2-3 hours, keep in mind that your PC does not turn off, go to hibernation or sleep mode.
Use your tracker as usual, and try to sync it almost once per hour.
When you receive the message that your battery is almost done, please contact us, in order for us to review the data.

We'll be awaiting your reply

The battery on my blaze started to drain faster about 2 weeks ago. On or
about the 29th of March 2018.
the only times I don't wear mine is on Sunday and for showering. I don't
have mine give me any notices except the ones I can't change and it still
drains in about 24 hrs.

I did this. Support said I'm out of warranty and I was offered a 25% discount.

Oh well.

thank you for the suggestion.
How long have you had your charge?
I'm not really into the social thing I just like to keep track of my
activity and it helps me realize when I haven't been active enough.

I got the Charge this past weekend.  I just bought it on my own and didn't use the discount.  If you don't care about FitBit social like I do,  I would choose the Garmin Vivofit.  It's highly rated on WireCutter.com and it holds a charge for 7+ days.
