Blaze battery life?

Any idea if the Blaze will have better battery life than the Charge HR?  I'm on my 2nd one of those in less than a month and the battery life is pretty horrific.

Charged overnight - battery by noon today is low - unacceptable.

Appears battery level on Blaze itself is full but app says low - WTH?

The true life of the battery can be ascertained by looking at the device's display @timjax9, so I'd used that to gauge your battery life.

The app may take a bit to show you, and will update as of the last sync. So, whether you're syncing regularly will effect what level you see on the app.

I'm not sure if this might be the reason why some people are experiencing poor battery life but early this morning came across an interesting "bug". Woke up at 4am and noticed my glance screen activated. Thought nothing of it, assuming I'd moved as I awoke, noted the time and shut my eyes. I could see the light of the screen through my close lids and wondered if I'd notice it turn off. Anyway, while later thought funny think I can still see light, opened my eyes and screen was still on. Had to manually swipe to another screen then back to home screen and then glance turned off in the usual few seconds.

With the glance screen activating, and not turning off my battery was considerably lower this morning then it should have been. Might explain others' problems. Really need a switch to disable glance while sleeping.

Tagging you @EmersonFitbit for info, as I can't recreate the issue.

Thank you @SunsetRunner!

I've mentioned elsewhere, but user interaction and syncing behaviors make for endless possibilities when it comes to battery life, but there are clear examples of bad batteries as well. I haven't seen any of those for Blaze yet, but my eyes are open!

Here's the Feature Request for sleep/Quick View improvements. We've released improvements for Quick View in the past for other devices, and I'm confident we can do the same for other devices as well.

@EmersonFitbit Oh I can fully appreciate user interaction will have variable impact on battery life. My point, and I'm not sure whether you got it, was that there was a bug that prevented my screen from turning off, thereby extending screen on time considerably and shortening battery life faster than would be expected. (I'm getting 4+ days with glance enabled)

I charged my Blaze Tuesday fully and today Friday it died.... that's 3 days. Anyone else having this issue?

How often are you using it...? What are you using it for? I've found the battery life to be great! I haven't tried pushing it for 5 days; however, I use mine all day long to control music with bluetooth and change songs during my classes (PE) and to time stations etc... I always have at least 3/4 of a battery when I come home, and that is after using it from 8-2 consistently.

Do they have any plans to make an app or something that will give users a battery sceen to view that will tell how much the battery is charged (maybe look like the screen that shows up when you put the blaze in the charger) and an estimate of time left on battery (similar to a camcorder)?

I've gotten great life from my battery and I'm doing 134,000 steps with daily treadmill activity and from charging Monday night and getting a low battery warning just 20 minutes ago, I feel that is great! Not near five days but I'm constantly syncing and I think that may have something to do with determining battery life as well.

I would be highly disappointed if my battery life was 1 day (I could have bought an Apple Watch if I wanted that).

134000??! That's like 63 miles a day. Maybe you missed a decimal point. LOL

@striknbarb Hey there!

Your fully charged Blaze should last up to 5 days with continuous heart rate monitoring and activity tracking before needing a recharge. You can always learn more basics about the device here.

Hope this helps!

@EmersonFitbit I'm onto my 3rd Full charge on the Blaze. What I have noticed on my Blaze it will give me 4-5 days battery life, wearing it 24/7 and HR as Auto. The 2nd full charge I deliberately just used it as a watch, HR detector and sleep detector and did not activate the Workout timer.

It remains on medium battery and then suddenly goes from medium to totally "red" low and then flat over 3 hours....... On all of my other Fitbits I can get at least 3/4 to a full day before I consider an evening charge.

So far with the Blaze I cannot rely on this.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

My battery has not lasted 5 days.  It lasts 3 or 4 based on usage, fitstar, workouts, notifications, or if i'm using it toggle music.

I charged my Blaze Friday night, put it on first thing Saturday morning, today, Sunday morning, it's dead. ....not very happy.

I am getting a solid 3 or 4 days also. I have pretty much everything turned on. I know I could easily get another day, but I can't seem to stop messing with it. I think once the novelty wears off and I quit turning on the screen, scrolling through all the options, etc. I will get another day.

Same here. Mine lasts for less than 2 1/2 days. It is fully functional after 48 hours thugh battery indicator is red. Next morning it is dead.

I think "quick view" is killing it (that's what was killing my C-HR) but I still need to experiment with it.

Emerson,

I appreciate your comments. However, reality is far worse then 'should'.

After I received my Blaze I charged is for 8+ hours before I switched out Charbe HR for the new Blaze. That was charge 1.

Charge two (2) was this past Saturday morning (3/5). When I put it in the charger it had roughly 1/2 of a charge left. I charged the battery to full power. That was charge 2.

Charge three (3) is happening as I sit typing this. Minutes ago I received a message from the tracker that my battery was low. And so it was approx 1/3 to 1/4 power left. I know that I could probably motivate for many hours on what was left of the charge but do I want to not knowing when it will stop? This is charge 3.

So, it appears to me that saying 5 days is really optimistic. I appears from my experience that its more like four (4) days.

Also, I run my Blaze minimully. What I mean by that us everything is shut off except the functions that tracek steps, heart rate, etc. I run no notifications or any of the ancillary features. If I could turn off the watch I would. Neither do I force sync the Blaze.

This is my real world experience so far.

Maybe I just got a good battery. I charged it Friday night when I got it. Used it five days and charged it Wednesday night. Have since used it (today is day five) and still have battery to spare. I use it quite a bit with notifications, auto-heart rate, etc. I will charge tonight and hope to not charge again until Saturday night.

I have followed the recommendations.... I didn't get a low battery warning it went from medium Friday morning to dead by noon. I fully charged it on Wednesday.

I have had my Blaze for about a week now, I had been wearing the first generation Microsoft Band and was very much looking forward to the release of the Fitbit Blaze.  I am a woman with a small wrist so I was worried it would be too clunky ... I was pleasantly surprised that it is very comfortable and doesn't feel too large.  My battery life has been at the most 2-1/2 to 3 days but I do have my "Brightness" setting on max as I like it bright (I am sure that is taking additional battery life).  One of my friends has an Apple watch and he likes the way it will notifiy to get up and move throughout the day.  I have set my silent "Alarms" on my Blaze for 9am, 10am, 11am, 1pm, 2pm, 3pm and it will vibrate at those times telling me to "Look Alive".  This has helped in a reminder to get up and move a bit throughout the day.  So far I have liked the device.
