Blaze battery short life

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

In Dec 2016 I got my Blaze as an xmas gift.  I have had to just order my 4th replacement because of battery life for each Blaze eroding down to less than one day.  Fitbit support keeps giving me a refurbished Blaze ... it last a few months and starts to die.  This is my 5th - AND LAST - Blaze.  So I am wondering this (please chime in with details Fitbit Support):

  1. Is there a wide spread chronic problem or am I just incredibly unlucky?
  2. I do not swim with the Blaze - it does get sweaty from working out and tennis, etc ... I also probably get sunblock on it.  Can either of these drastically erode battery life?
  3. What solution is there besides sending me repeatedly bad Blazes?  I don't want to go down your chain of less functional smart watches / trackers - I would like either a brand new Blaze or to trade up to the Iconic (if that is the new model)?

Thank

scott

Hi there @rsdixon. Good to see you in the Fitbit Community Forums! 🙂

I'm very sorry to hear that the battery on your Fitbit Blaze is not lasting as it should 😕

Now, to answer each of your inquiries:

1. There is no general issue with the batteries on the Fitbit Blaze or any other Fitbit tracker. Each battery issue is an isolated case that is affected by different factors as usage, age of the tracker and others.

2. The Fitbit Blaze is splash, rain and sweat resistant and even using sunblock shouldn't have a direct impact on the battery life.

3. At the moment, if you're still under the warranty, our team will be happy to help you out by replacing your tracker when there's not much else that can be done on your end to get an issue resolved. Now, if you're already out of warranty, our team will in most of the cases offer a discount on a new tracker excluding the Fitbit Ionic as this is in a different category.

Hope this answers your questions and anything else you may need, I'm here to help!

Thanks for the reply. The replacement is already on the way even though it was out of warranty. Obviously Support knew that going on my 5th tracker is a terrible customer experience so offered the free replacement. But at the end the 5th will die as well and I will just move on to another tracker - probably the Apple Watch.

Thanks,
Scott

That was not the subject - the subject line was more of an issue - battery chronic failure.  When I am on my 5th blaze in 16 months I am not sure how its coincidental.

Sorry I am new to this posting - but accepting another refurbished Blaze is not the solution.  Accepting a brand new blaze might be and getting a good discount on the Ionic might be too.

Are those options?

Thanks for letting me know.

I have one of the original Pre order Blaze Watch

The battery lasts about 8 hours with activity maybe overnight if no activity is done other than walking etc.

I really like this watch but don't want a referb and don't want to drop $300 every 2 years for a new one

What should I do?

A..Buy the Ionic

B. See if I can get a replacement

C. find a 3rd party battery replacement store

D. Go find another Tracker Brand
