I have been tracking walks and biking without GPS on my blaze since I don't care to waste my data on a map. When I tracked walks on my charge hr it would give me the miles, steps, calories, and everything else but the map and the blaze does that too for walks. However when I track biking it's not showing the miles I've gone, do I have to use GPS tracking to get that?

Hi, @kmcorder, when you track a walk without GPS your Fitbit uses your stride length multiplied by the number of steps to give you an estimate of your distance.  For biking there is no stride length to use, so if you would like to have bike distance you will need to use GPS.  Alternatively you can log this manually if you know the distance.

@kmcorder to add to @Julia_G's response, when using the connected GPS no maps are involved. The tracker simply records points, so no Internet data is used during the run or bike ride. When you get home, you can connect to WiFi and sync.
