Blaze can't handle me

As I looked through my badges a few weeks ago, I realized something was terribly wrong. I've had a Fitbit for almost 2 years now (June 15th or 718 daysish) and I've only earned the Boat Shoe 312 times. That is weird considering I average 15k per day and have gotten less than 5k step only once since August of 2016. I somehow have only earned the badge less than half the time that I've owned it. It's not a huge deal, but I wonder how many other badges I've lost out on. The thing is, I've been stuck at 312 for weeks. Today I got over 25k, and I'm still at 312 for the 5k  Boat Shoe. What's the deal?

Doesn't Fitbit only award the top badge for the day?

If it did, I'd have waaaay less than 312 Boat Shoes. I hit 10 to 15k almost every single day.
