Blaze chip / light in left side of screen?

Hi all,
I was given a Fitbit blaze about 5 weeks ago for my birthday. I recently took it back to exchange as I experienced some liquid coming from the charger. I had a look online and saw other people experiencing some issues with leaking battery acid which is what happened to mine.

I had it replaced under warranty 2 days ago and set up my new one last night. When setting it up, I was in the dark and noticed on the left hand side of the tracker, there is a tiny little chip. I noticed at night time the light from the screen lights up this little chip and is much more visible.

I didn't know if this was normal or another fault? I never noticed this on the last faulty Fitbit, and I noticed it very clearly last night.

It's just annoying me looking at the screen and seeing this little chip light up

Left side of the screen and dark red? It is a light sensor. It adjusts the brightness of the screen depending on the light conditions. If you are in a dark room and turn your hand to see the clock you can see that the screen turns darker a moment after switching on.

Interesting to read about the liquid in the charger. I had such a liquid in my old charger too but I didn't know what it is. It was no longer a problem for me because Fitbit sent me a new module and a new charger because the old one damaged the module.
