Blaze coming tomorrow - question about the alarm clock vibration

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

One of my favorite features on my Fitbit Flex and Charge HR was the ability to silently wake me up in the AM and not disturb my wife.  I'm reading that the Blaze's vibration motor is far weaker than the others, which is going to be an issue if it doesn't wake me up.

Anyone had an issue with the "buzz" not being strong enough to wake in the AM?  If this looks like a problem, I'll just send it back to Amazon and look at other options.  Thanks!

This topic seems to vary according to individual's perceptions of it.  I myself do not have any problem with it - I feel it quite a bit.  Others, not so.  Perhaps wait until you have yours, then try it out and see for yourself.

I mentioned in another post -- my Blaze didn't wake me up this morning. I had been using a Charge HR previously, that always woke me up. I'm going to wait a little bit to see if Fitbit releases an update to make the vibration more prominent. Hoping they do before the return window closes.

I do feel that the vibration pattern on the Blaze is weaker than the Charge, but so far I do not feel that it is too weak to wake me up in the morning. I use it as my only alarm in the morning and it woke me up this morning.

This morning was my first morning using it, so time will tell.

The silent alarm is in fact horrible, there is no way this thing consistently wakes anybody up. Unless Fitbit can fix this with a firmware upgrade this will prove to be a completely worthless feature for most.

I had the Charge HR, and also really liked the silent alarm. I got the Blaze a few days ago, and the silent alarm has yet to wake me up. It seems much weaker to me. 😞

I also mentioned my concerns in a seperate post but in my experience - the silent alarm on the Blaze is far too weak to be effective - unlike its predecessor the Charge HR.  If you plan to rely on the silent alarm to wake you up in the AM - you will be disappointed.  Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.......

Best to try it out for yourself. As you will see in the other threads about this issue, many of us find the alarms sufficiently strong to wake us up.

@aisling_od has the right idea, everyone is different, the best way to answer your qiestion would be to do your own testing. For me Fitbit does not make a unit, same with nany alarm clocks, they just will not wake me up. The Fire truck blaring down the street outside my window doesnt wake ne either.

I must agree that the silent alarm on the Fitbit Blaze is very weak. I would consider myself a light sleeper and had no problem with the Charge HR but the strenth of the vibration on the silent alarm on the Blaze is insufficient to wake me.

This was the first morning it woke me up. Albeit, I went to bed earlier than usual. So I'm 1 for 6 now. Maybe I'll get used to it? But the vibration feature is a bit of a letdown, as the Ultra, One, Flex, Force, Charge HR, Surge never failed to wake me.

I've had my Blaze for 3 days now, the vibration is about 70% weaker than my Charge HR. It gives 3 small and weak blasts and stops, the only reason I know is cos I happened to be awake before it went off. It doesn't work for me, so it's going back, it's a shame, I really like to the look of it.

I've used the Blaze for 4 nights now.  The first 3 the buzz woke me up.  I think.  It could have been the dog.  Or the cat.  Anyway.  This morning it did not wake me up.  Nor did the dog.  Or the cat.  Luckily, I was able to still be on time to work.  I'm hoping that this isn't the norm - maybe FitBit will come out with some sort of "fix"
