I just bought the blaze and after the initial shock of finding out that it does not come with the USB dongle for syncing, I tried to connect it to my laptop bluetooth. The laptop sees it but it seems that I need to do something to the blaze to get it going.
I checked the fitbit connect application and there is nothing in it for bluetooth configuration. Can this be done? Or do I need more software?
Thanks.
ps, I believe that the device should come with the necessary software and connecting devices.

Rich,
I am using the FITBIT connect program and it doesn't have any bluetooth settings for the blaze. Where can I get the WIN10 app from? I do not have a microsoft account, nor will I sign up for one.
Thanks.

@kusojiji Fortunately I have dongles from my earlier Fitbits but I just found this link where it states that the Blaze syncs via the charging cable. It looks very vague to me...
Also from the manual this section about syncing.
Syncing your tracker to your Fitbit account
Once you've set up and started using Blaze, you'll need to make sure it regularly transfers (syncs) its data to Fitbit so you can track your progress, see your exercise history, earn badges, analyze your sleep logs, and more on your Fitbit dashboard. A daily sync is recommended but not required; your tracker can store data for up to seven days between syncs.
The Fitbit apps use Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) technology to sync with your Fitbit tracker. Each time you open the app it will sync if the tracker is nearby, and the app will also sync per iodically throughout the day if you have the all-day sync setting enabled.
If you’re running the Fitbit app on a Windows 10 PC that doesn’t have Bluetooth, you’ll need to make sure the tracker is plugged into the computer via the charging cable
Fitbit Connect on a Mac
Also uses Bluetooth for syncing (if available), otherwise you’ll need to make sure the tracker is plugged into the computer via the charging cable. Fitbit Connect on a PC requires that the tracker be plugged into the computer via charging cable. You can force Fitbit Connect to sync at any time or it will happen automatically every 15 minutes if:
The tracker is within 20 feet of the computer and has new data to transfer
The computer is powered on, awake, and connected to the Internet
Tip:
If you have another Fitbit tracker that came with a wireless sync dongle, you can use that dongle to sync your Blaze with Fitbit Connect rather than putting the Blaze tracker into the charging cable each time. Dongles are available on fitbit.com.

Both rue connect and the Win10 app do not have any control settings for Bluetooth. If your win10 machine has built in Bluetooth the Win 10 app may be able to auto detect and use it, but as @Colinm39 says the charging cable will also work. My understanding is that it will work on win 8 also.
As for my knowledge of Win10, I quote the words of Sgt. Schultz, "I know nuthing", see my signiture.. Do you not have access to the play store?

Both,
Thanks for the info. I guess I need more equipment/software than what fitbit provides to get this going again.
I'll hit them up for it.
thanks.

Here is where we are a disadvantage, not knowing type of computer or operating system, or what phone.. I've been giving general info.
As for the dongle Fitbit only has one model, so any Fitbit dongle will work.

You know, you're right! I guess people don't have the mind-reading skillset yet! 😛 Sorry!
I have two laptops with WIN10 pro. One has Bluetooth and the other does not (worked with WIN7 but doesn't with WIN10 😞 )
My biggest issue with fitbit is that they didn't provide all the required hardware/software with the purchase. I really do expect to be able to connect this to my laptop without having to purchase anything else, like a dongle. I checked the outside of the box and it does not state anything about having to buy a dongle or buy a phone to get this thing to work. I should not even be required to sign up for a microsoft account, hotmail, twitter or facebook to get the required software.
Sorry if this turned into a rant!! 🙂 Appreciate the assistance.
I have also opened up a ticket with fitbit on this issue.

I just downloaded the app for Win10 and opted not to sign in/sign up for an account and it proceeded with no problems.

@kusojiji simply go to the address on your Blaze http://wwwfitbit.com/setup through your win 10 computer. This page will direct you to the Fitbit app for the device that accesses the page. A win 10 computer does not need the Fitbit dongle if it has built in Bluetooth.
