Blaze consistency, response time and accuracy -- Issues

Petite Peeves:

I really like my Blaze and use most of its features many times each week.  In all operations, my criteria are that the Blaze respond consistently, quickly and accurately.  I want to see the correct information displayed as soon as I glance at my watch. With those goals in mind, here are five places the Blaze needs improvement.

1. Turn-on wrist flic is unreliable... I cannot get it to work consistently, no matter what I do.  I only use the left button now.

2. Likewise, tap for information/display change is unreliable.  Sometimes one tap will do it, other times, I tap in the same way 4 or 5 times before the display updates.  (It is kind of embarassing to glance at my watch and need to tap the face ever more firmly until the display changes -- btw, it's not very good advertising for the Blaze.)

3. Auto brightness is way too slow; when I step outside, my Blaze takes 5 seconds to get bright enough to read in the sunlight.  (Staring at my watch through my cupped hand is not a good advert either.) If I want to see the display in all environments, I need to leave it on bright which is battery unfriendly (and annoyingly bright inside).

4. On round watch faces (like the Original face, and some of the new ones in the pipeline) the minute (and second) hands obscure the fitness information (e.g., HR, Steps, etc.) at the bottom of the screen from about 25 past the hour until 25 before the hour.  This means that for 10 minutes of every hour it can be difficult or impossible to see all the fitness information.  (Also, the hour hand blocks part of the information for two hours in each 12.)  Solution: The watch hands need to travel behind the fitness info.

5. This is an accuracy issue.  As I and many others have said, the step count does not correctly reflect the mileage walked. This has been an issue on these forums since the Blaze was released.  It is very annoying.

Let's look at some of your points.
1: take the Blaze off and place it on a table with the face in your direction.. Lift the far side up and the display should turn on.. For quick view to work you want the arm close to horazontal before twisting the wrisr.

2: fitbit has a touch screen, like your phone has, tapping wildly doesn't work while the most gentlist touch will be detected.. Just don't let the finger slide while touching the fsce

3: brightness yes is a pain, the next firmware will address this.

4: since these new faces are not out, we don't know exactly how the work, my thoughts are the stats will hide the clock hands.

5: as for accuracy, i find my steps during walks count fine, and fine tunning and entering the stride brings the mileage right into the ballpark.
Can't comment too much since im not sure if gps was used.. The tracker itself does not measure miles, it calculates rhem.
